A2410 & CybergraphX v4
Hello,
I have an A2410 installed in an A3000 system which I use for Amiga Unix primarily. I recently learned that the A2410 is supported by CyberGraphX v4 and have tried to get it working with Amiga OS 3.2 Did anybody have success with this configuration? I've installed: 1. CyberGraphX V4 42.0 2. CyberGraphX V4 42.0 (update) - this includes the "unsupported" A2410 driver 3. CyberGraphX V4.3 (42.7) - this includes what appears to be a supported A2410 driver I boot my A3000 with a monitor connected to both the Amiga video port, as well as the A2410. I get the desktop via the Amiga video port as expected and a CyberGraphX logo screen showing on the monitor attached to the A2410. Via the CGXMode utility, I chose the monitor which exactly matches what I have, and then configure a 800x600 and a 1024x768 screen mode. However, trying to test these results in the error: "Can't open test screen!". When I try to use any of the A2410 modes from the Amiga OS Screen prefs it fails. It gives me a corrupted CyberGraphX logo on the monitor attached to the A2410. So just checking in the off chance that somebody has this working. Perhaps there is a step I missed, or a CGX flag that is not set properly. |

Hoping the A2410 is 100% working, are you absolutely sure you're not creating a monitor profile your A2410 doesn't support?

Ok, I did a bit more testing at the weekend now.
I started with a fresh install of Amiga OS 3.5 now and installed as before: 1. CyberGraphX V4 42.0 2. CyberGraphX V4 42.0 (update) - this includes the "unsupported" A2410 driver 3. CyberGraphX V4.3 (42.7) - this includes what appears to be a supported A2410 driver I'm able to actually desk a Workbench screen to appear now when connected to the video port of the A2410. I tried both 800 x 600 as well as 1024 x768. BUT - if I try to click on any icon, the icon is selected (highlighted) and the system appears to hang. The mouse no longer moves. Interestingly, I also observed the same if I tried to control the mouse pointer with the keyboard. So I'm definitely further with CGX V4 and the A2410 on OS 3.5 now. I'm starting to wonder if this is a HW issue somewhere? Could this be an issue with the CIA chips, etc. Also, the other thing I'm not certain of. There are a number of CGX settings (nopassthrough, etc) which I've tried different combinations of. None seem to make a difference to the above. Again, any suggestions welcome. |

There are known issues with CyberGraphX v4, OS 3.2 and the new Intuition v47
http://aminet.net/docs/help/AmigaOS_3.2-FAQ.txt -> 5.2 Maybe that is the issue that you have experienced? I think that Thomas Ritcher has an OS 3.1.4/3.2 thread somewhere, where this is mentioned in more details. |

Known issues = not compatible. :-)
Intuition.library must be downgraded to the V40 release using loadmodule in 3.2 if you wish to use CGX. |

Hello! Where can I get V40 of intuition.library? Should that be on some older Amiga OS media for example? I definitely want to use CGX as that what supports the A2410.

You can use a rom splitting tool and the 3.1 or 3.1.4 kickstart image to get it for example.

So I finally got the A2410 working in OS 3.9 with the latest CybergraphX V40 updates. It turns out that the CFX Supergels variable has to be enabled for it to work.
Now with some luck, I'll get it working with OS 3.2. |

@petegs how are you finding the performance of the A2410? I used to have one decades ago and I recall it being dog slow in Workbench.

Definitely it's a more leisurely experience. Especially when opening folders with lots of icons etc. I do have a Picasso II for comparative purposes. Definitely that's much more snappy.
