Remove control splash screens
I know you guys put a lot of work on these conversions and I really appreciate them, bu I would prefer to play games as intended originally, and the splash screens showing controls really bug me out.
It's one more button I have to press and it's usually in interlace mode (yuck ). A text file denoting controls should be enough. Also when you have those added CDXL animations like in Aladdin, which didn't come with the game... it's just a bit pointless. Can we stop having those and boot straight into the game as intended by the original game makers? No additions? Having the games run perfectly on CD32 is in my opinion more than enough of a feat that I appreciate so very much. Perhaps you can include a way to remove/bypass that? I dunno. |

Not being funny, these guys have put a lot of work into these discs, be it getting the game working at all or adding extra stuff, i think its quite rude to ask for stuff to be removed, just press an extra button and be happy you can play it on a stock cd32.
I personally like all the extra screens and cdxl, makes a new release something worth while other than thinking its just a disk game on a cd, gives it something over whdload. Either that or learn how to remove it yourself and redo the iso... |

I don't think what I said is rude at all, it's a conversation and a question. You're over reacting.
I CLEARLY said first that I appreciate the work involved in the conversions. |

And I didn't say you weren't appreciating the work, but i don't see how saying remove the controller screen because its another button to press, and remove the cdxl intro because "its just a bit pointless" comes across as "asking a question" |

I think it is just a formulation issue.
It certainly would have sounded better this way: "Would it be possible/easy to have the control screens show only if the user presses a joystick button at launch? A short one-or-two seconds text message could pop up at the screen bottom to indicate control scheme screens can be seen by pressing a button but the game would otherwise proceed normally if nothing was pressed. This would offer the original game launch flow while still allowing users to see the screen if they want." This seems like a good middle ground between the needs of many users to see that screen and of those which do not. The way you presented it sounds a bit like "guys, you did it wrong" and that only your solution is acceptable, but other users might want to be able to see these screens and the inconvenience of reading a text file before launch is higher than that of seeing that screen so a compromise has to be found. If you are in for several minutes of play, a short two seconds wait is certainly not a big deal and if it is maybe you should meditate to pacify your inner kitten. |

I didn't even say "remove what you have done" as Amigajay implied, I ASKED if from THIS POINT ON can it be CONSIDERED that these "FEATURES" not be ADDED to future releases. I don't even see where you would get that I was DEMANDING anything. I guess I need to quote myself: Quote:

I really appreciate the splash screens, particular where full use of the CD32 pad has been achieved, much better than venturing to a PC or tablet to figure out the button mapping from a text file. All of the intros and splash screens add to what are amazing and appreciated releases.
