Is this poll a joke?
None of the prices are even remotely likely.

You gotta have a £1000+ option

Are you joking at £1000? There's no way it's worth more than £399 imo Probably £299 if I'm honest That's how much I'd be willing to pay...

LOOOOLLLL yer a way a say a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off sonny Jim!

If we were talking about mass produced x86 boxes then perhaps £399 is realistic.
But this is niche HW and it will be expensive.

The X1000 is not about replacing x86 Windows / Linux boxes, it is about offering the hardcore Amiga enthusiast a relatively modern system that is infinitely more advanced than current AmigaOS offerings.

Everyone is of course entitled to their view on things and that includes potential buyers like me and likely non buyers like you.
However in my view, if we are running a poll, then it should at least offer options that allow all views to be expressed.

But surely, technically, £1000+ is covered by the £500+ option

I'd really like one just out of curiosity, but I'm priced right out beyond £500

tbh I'm quite shocked at your prediction but I guess with it being kind of bespoke hardware then yeah I guess there will be a price premium for it....

The sam440 is considered "entry level" and "budget" by these guys so the X1000 will be well over 1000ukp and to ship it to australia it will be a hell of a lot more since they wont ship motherboards but want to stooge you with a complete case.

The current estimate is 'around' 1500 EUR for a complete system (sans monitor). Obviously this is a fair amount of wedge but it is actually pretty cheap for Amiga hardware

Most users on this forum are just into their classics (or WINUAE) and seem to be anti any new 'Amiga' platform which given Amiga's torrid history that's hardly surprising I guess. I’ve only had an Amiga for a couple of years so I’m taking a slightly different view.

I think it's a bit of shame actually. Hyperion is trying to launch a more up-to-date platform to move OS4 forwards but they just don't have the cash to sell hardware at a loss to get the price down to a realistic level. They really need to release a budget version for about half that price if they want to sell enough to get some decent development going again.

Another interesting thing is that if this new hardware does nose-dive, I don't see how OS4 development can continue...........Hyperion really have bet the farm on this baby (for better or worse, time will tell).

They should have invested any money and effort they had for R&D in porting OS4 to x86. That's ll they need to do, poor clueless Hyperions :/

Even fucking OSX runs on x86. Snap out of it.

It's not that they don't want to port to x86, obviously that would be the best option. I think the problem is a simple lack of time and money.

If Hyperion can get things moving again, I'm sure a port to x86 would be on their roadmap somewhere.

the trouble now is no one will buy the 'hardware' because it is overpriced. /sigh.

Yep it's a classic chicken-and-egg situation

At least Hyperion are giving it a good go and if it does all come crashing down there's always AROS to pick up the pieces

Silly thing is, the amount of time it would take to get os4.whatever working on intels would be extreme, Too many different hardware components, unless it is based on a linux backend.

x86 or nothing. Hardly anyone is going to buy these new machines but a HELL OF A LOT more Amigians would fork out for OS4 to run on x86.

I really like you Hyperion but please stop pissing in the wind

I believe the X-1000 will be an epic business failure. If the price is the one anounced (about the original A1000 price), they wont sell enough units to cover costs. The thing is that this Aeon company doesnt have a market share at all, and is directly competing with Acube´s soon to be realeased SAM460ex. Acube already has a big share on this niche market, and a good reputation, together with a lower price scheme of 600/650 EURO for their future SAM460ex.
The SAM460ex will probably sell well. I am really sorry for this Aeon guys.
