Blizzard 2060....

Been trying to get my new blizzard 2060\Scsi accelerator card
to work with my GVP series II Scsi Controller board.

Now i now these need to be on seperate ID numbers but what exactly needs to be terminated ?

Is it the last device in the chain ?

Does the hard drive that sits on the Scsi controller card need
to be terminated ?

I am getting very confused......

I tried doing away with the GVP series II controller and tried
using the scsi controlloer on the 2060,but still doesn't work !

Help !!!

Do I understand that right, you want to connect two SCSI controller cards which sit inside the same computer with one cable ? Why ????

However, it is possible. The termination rule is: the *cable* has to be terminated on both ends. This can be done either by the drive (the controller is a drive, too) connected to the last connector on the cable or by a seperate terminator connected to the end of the cable.

Because both your controllers probably already are terminated, these must be the first and the last device on the cable and all the others must be inbetween.

Now for the sense. Why the hell are you trying this ? Two controllers on the same SCSI cable inside the same computer does not make any sense. It only makes problems because all the drives will show up twice, once for each controller. You should really use two cables, one for each controller. And then again both cables have to be terminated on both ends.

It's really simple. Make sure the the first and the last device on the cable are terminated none of the drives between them.

SCSI-IDs have nothing to do with this. You can freely choose them as long as on one cable each ID is unique. For best performance you should avoid gaps between the IDs. Use 0,1,2,3 and not 1,3,5,7.

I am not trying to connect the two scsi controllers together,

I would like to use the scsi controller on the Blizzard 2060
But there is no where to mount the hard drive, unlike the
GVP series II which is designed to mount the hard drive

So this is what is in the system,

GVP Series II controller (hard drive mounted & working on this)
CDrom also connected to this.

Blizzard 2060 (with scsi support)

With both the 2060 and the GVP series II in the system nothing boots.

As soon as i take the GVP series II out, the system boots up on disk.

//update :

Ok......my system is working fine with my GVP series II controller, hard drive & internal cdrom.

Went to add the Blizzard 2060 and nothing booted up !

Just read the manual and it says to install the software first
before the board which i did not do.....so will try this now !

The archive is fine except for the file "68040new.library"
which is damaged.

As you don't have an 68040, you don't need this library (I assume the blizzard 2060 carries a 68060).

Just rename 68040dummy.library as 68040.library and copy it over the original, then copy the 68060.library to libs. The other libs are not needed if you don't change the processor used.

I know Sysinfo aint the best benchmarking app out there but
dhrystones is reporting 37421..........unbelievable !

If only i could mount the hard drive somewhere else than i could
do away with the GVP Series II controller and use the scsi onboard the 2060 :hoo

My A2000's HD is sitting loose on top of the PSU behind the floppy drives. It's not a problem unless you make it one. :-)

The A2060's SCSI is about the fastest you can get for the A2000.
