Haven’t tried mine but has anyone had issues getting USB sticks to work?

Apparently some UBS sticks don't work so you may need to try a few! Also, must be FAT32.

The smaller the capacity the better the odds.

Save states are a bit of a kludge - not really a solution. For Slamtilt I would need to use one save game per table to hold the highscores as I cannot successfully quit back to main menu. I would much prefer to use true saving as I worry about bugs coming to light after running the virtual amiga for 100s of hours which is in effect what the save states are doing.

for me, it's the opposite, all keys with a capacity <16GB don't work.
I only succeeded with 16 or 32 Gb keys...

PGA Tour Golf will not work due to failed write requests.

Maybe we'll even have front end support added for HDF and ADF support, instead of using save state 'hacks' like this:

Hi, I've found a solution how to use your own hardfile (with Workbench) with your A500.

This works with a savestate file. These are the steps I followed:

* Format a USB stick and place the A500 folder from the WHDLoad Package in the root as normal.
* Put one WHDload game/demo on your USB stick.
* Put your hardfile (created in WinUAE) on your USB stick.
* Put the USB stick in your A500 and run the game.
* Press Home on your controller when the game runs and press down on the d-pad.
* Press A to make a savestate file.
* Put the USB stick in your PC and open the folder .a500states and the next folder (something like 9c81e6eb).
* Delete the slot-0.msz file.
* Open the slot-0.uae file in notepad and go to *** Hard Drives.
* Change this info to :
hardfile2=rw,DH0:/mnt/INSERT NAME OF YOUR HARDFILE.HDF,32,1,2,512,0,,uae0
uaehf0=hdf,rw,DH0:"/mnt/INSERT NAME OF YOUR HARDFILE.HDF",32,1,2,512,0,,uae0
scsi=true
* You can also check under *** Chipset if the chipset is set to AGA (chipset=aga).
* Save the file, and put the USB stick in your A500.
* Select the game again and press Home on your controller and down on the d-pad.
* Select the savepoint and the HDF file will load! (and had read/write options!).

Advance mode:

If you want to make a folder on your USB stick visible in the HDF file, add the following info under *** Hard Drives:

filesystem2=rw,DH1:Games:/mnt/NAME OF THE FOLDER ON USB,-128
uaehf1=dir,rw,DH1:Games:/mnt/NAME OF THE FOLDER ON USB,-128
You can change the Games: in the name you want to call the harddrive.

I tried this and it didn't work at all. When I reloaded the saved game if just loaded the game as normal but from the beginning.

TLDR: Is this (Amiga Mini) worth getting for someone who has MiSTer FPGA?

there's been an updated method - edit the config file and insert 'use_gui=yes' and save it.. then when you load the game you can press F12 on your keyboard and have full access ot the AmiBerry config. Add in HDF images (or just plain folders) as MNT and works. I'll see if I can find it again on the A500, C64 mini facebook page.

Now that is a problem that 10 dollar investment can easily fix...

How can you not have single USB keyboard? PS2 or serial keyboard perhaps?

Ps/2 only on my old PC. I use a laptop mainly now so not needed a separate keyboard for years.

Is there a step by step guide for this? I tried just modifying a config file with this line and F12 does nothing.

After some research, discovered that my Panasonic has Games Mode but only becomes available if a console is connected. So turns on automatically for the PS5 - need to retry the mini and see if I can turn it on manually.
I had the lag on Pinball Dreams too, but changing the tv to Game mode fixed it for me. It certainly made for an interesting game trying to time the flippers to balls with a lag at first!

Has anyone tried Arkanoid 2?
There are sound issues, no sound fx and the music is distorded. I dont know what to change. The cpu is at normal and memory configured to 1MB.
Actually I tried every possible combination. On my Amiberry Pi it works OK.
