Using a downloaded HDF file

Hi guys, hopefully I am not breaking any rules so please let me know if I am.

I am new to FS-UAE, but I have managed to get some adf files running using the configs from OpenRetro. However, I am not sure how to use HDF files. I have downloaded some and put them in the same places as my ADF files but the file database updater doesn't find them and I can't boot the game since the files are missing. Is there some extra step I need to take? I have read as much as I can from the online support but it doesn't make much sense to me! Thanks for any help.

Hi jmulder88 and welcome to EAB

This is doing things 'from scratch' so I hope this isn't too confusing. Start FS-UAE Launcher manually and select A1200 as the Amiga model. Then go to the Hard Drives and select the HDF as shown below. Then the game should (hopefully) start when you click on... Start

Hi, and thanks for your reply. When I do that, however, I get stuck on this screen:

I was afraid that would happen That means the HDF is not bootable. Could you upload the HDF file to the zone? Here's how to access the zone: http://eab.abime.net/faq.php?faq=vb_...ezone_faq_item

Ah OK well I guess I downloaded something that doesn't work the way I want it to. Honestly I'd rather not bother you too much with this, is there something that will need to be done to all the hdf files I have downloaded? If so then maybe I'll try to find some bootable ones or something.

Either that or you would have to boot from a Workbench disk and mount the HDF. Should be possible to do that via command line.
