I already contacted sordan several times because his prices mistakes. Instead of 22.5 Eur he has often 225 etc. He doesnt care much, but in his next listing the prices are mostly okay again.

Is that licensed OS on it? If so, its not a scam. Expensive but not a scam.

Let the buyer beware!

This is normally used by ebay sellers when they have no current stock, when they get stock the prices are then reset to the correct selling price it saves having to re-list the items.

I am not connected in anyway with Sordan but I have bought from him in the past.

Ah, this explains it perfectly. Thank you.

? I dont get it. When i buy a Workbench from Versalia.de or AmigaKit it is licenced AND i know the money goes to the licence holders. So... ?

I know he has "normal prices" as well, but he sells those Workbench/CF+Adapter combos on multiple Ebay´s and the prices are anything but normal. NOTHING can excuse such insane prices

Okay, again: I contacted sordan once because of those prices and here is his answer:

Quote:
Hi there.
They are currently out of stock.
More for sale in regular price of 22.99 euro will be available within 2-4 weeks.
Thanks.

Best Regards, Peter - sale manager.
I have bought some adaptors from him for normal prices before and then.

So, instead of "OUT OF STOCK" they use Insane prices to prevent people from buying ? Never heard that before. I hope he is no scammer but man, those prices still give me shivers. Greetings, Nibbler

Yes, he does this so that the listing doesn't have to be re-posted every single time he runs out of stock. Having to post a new ad makes the counter reset to zero for number of items of that type sold (notice in the listing how it shows how many total he has sold over the course of the listing). I don't believe that eBay gives you the option to list something that is 'out of stock,' as out of stock usually means the auction is over and the item is sold off, closing it down (I may be wrong, I don't sell on eBay). This is how he always does it, and it is definitely NOT a scam.

He usually sells them, fully licensed, for 24 Euros on his website, here (I have no affiliation with the seller, but, have made multiple purchases there with no issues):

https://sordan.ie/product/569/licens...miga-600-1200/

It's actually very common on eBay for regular sellers to do this. It avoids relisting fees when something is sold, and IIRC maintains the position in search results too, so while it might not be ideal, it makes sense from a business perspective. It's not a scam, and there's nothing new about it - Sordan is certainly not the first Amiga seller to do that, and won't be the last.

And, as an established and well-known seller of retro gear in Ireland and further afield, you can be sure that the Cloanto licence is as legitimate as buying from Vesalia and Amigakit.

Same thing happens on Amazon as well due to the algorithms, you see stuff at insane prices.

I would personally rather buy an unlicensed ROM and/or disk set. Cloanto don't deserve a cent.

Probably eBay doesn't have a friendly mechanism to solve this for sellers.
