Matrox Millenium II PCI GFX card
Hey, I've just discovered Matrox drivers and BIOS for this card when fitted in a PCI PowerMac.
My 7500/200 PowerMac is going to be its new home! |

I'm guessing you'd have to program the BIOS on the PC?

From memory, there are two versions of that Matrox Millenium pci card, one has a larger rom fitted than the other. The larger one is needed for the mac rom.

Thanks for your knowledge and suggestions guys!
Don't worry, I'll be very careful with this. Of course, I'll let everyone know what happens when I try it. @alexh, Yes, I'm sure that I will have to program the BIOS for compatibility with the Mac on the PC. For this I'll need a Matrox BIOS flashing utility for the PC. I will grab all the drivers and BIOS files for this card eventually, but it was seeing some of these cards for sale on ebay which gave me the idea that it might be suitable for Macs as well as PCs, for that's how they were described. @cosmicfrog, Thanks for the link. The ID sticker on this card says MIL2P/4/CPQC. |

I am sure there is a mac flasher too. I didnt have a pc when I flashed my matrox card. I had both versions of the card, and I think I still have the software on an old drive. I will pull it out tomorrow.

Thanks, Techseeker!
The files I downloaded last night are BinHex encoded and I haven't got around to extracting them yet, so I don't yet know what they contain. I'm pretty sure that the BIOS file archive contains a Mac flashing utility as well, but I just assumed that I would require a PC flashing utility to install the Mac BIOS file because the card currently has a PC BIOS installed. Whatever the truth of this is, and on the assumption that too much information will be better than too little, I would certainly appreciate it if you could find the software you used with your card. |
