Hello
Hi All!
I'm a software developer based in Seattle, but I grew up in Manchester, UK. My first computer was my dad's oric which I used to type in lines from lady bird books on. Later my dad got me a zx spectrum +2 which I still have in the loft of my parents house. I'm desperate now to get hold of it again but my folks live in the UK and I live in the USA. After the speccy my dad bought me an Amiga 1200 which I mostly used for playing Elite Frontier, lotus turbo Elise and various cover disks. I got a CD32 after that which I always planned to 'upgrade' to get it back to being an A1200 but I never had the funds. Then there was a snes and eventually a PC. Never had much money in those days, so I missed out on a lot of the games of the time and contented myself with playing cover disks and random stuff my dad got me off car boot sales. I don't know if it's age or the fact I moved to the US a few years ago, but nostalgia has become a force to be reckoned with in my life! I'm looking to get going again with Amiga stuff. Maybe do some assembly development on an Amiga 1200 if I can get hold of one. I've been a software developer for nearly 20yrs but never done much assembly. I've been playing around with devpac 3 running on amiberry on a raspberry pi but it's early days! |

I hear Seattle has a pretty good retro-computing scene with a bunch of nice places where you can buy retro consoles, computers, games.. ;-) Well, about that long overdue CD32 upgrade, your timing is pretty good. Only in recent years did we get a good upgrade option (030 accelerator + rgb out, IDE and keyboard connector) thanx to some talented people in the community. Check out Amibay if you you're looking for stuff to buy: https://www.amibay.com/forumdisplay.php?24-Amiga Cheers |

I love Seattle . The Seattle retro games fair I was lucky enough to be in town for was awesome, and I really hope the living computer museum is just brilliant
Hopefully one day I’ll get back there... welcome! |
