Yeah there are some decent ones, Last Crusade (adventure) being one of the best.
Never liked the usual formula (mainy Ocean's) of having several separate mini games loosely based on the movie Alien 3, Hudson Hawk, Lethal Weapon are all ok |

I hated Hudson Hawk but maybe because the movie is shit for starters and I hated it.

Ha ha true, movie sucked big time!
I do prefer the game on the C64, good little platformer. Blues Brothers also good. All the half decent ones do away with the mini game formula |

Blues Brothers is another counter example of an okay game. But it's probably because it has nothing to do with the movie except for the characters.
Thanks for proving me wrong on some movie ties-in! The examples you quoted are indeed fine. The curse is on Arnold then. |

Agree - Arnie was cursed with rubbish games. His films had potential as well to make great games!
True Lies was a great film (recently re-watched it) but suppose a little late in the Amiga's life to get the tie-in Running Man was the big missed opportunity for me and Total Recall - both could have been great games. T2 - loved the digi sequences at the time, but the game is below average - that walking and shooting level with the police poking out from behind a brick wall, sucked big time. |

It's a decent game but I'm not going to lie... the music and 2 player mode has a lot to do with that The gameplay itself I don't really experience as fluent. Good platformer for speedrunners.

Oh yeah I liked the movie, fine ACDC tune on the soundtrack, a really great song of theirs actually. I thought the concept was quite unique as well and Tom Noonan was a great bad guy.

A good movie, but weaker than everything Arnie did in that period. I loved it when I saw it, but it has little "replay value" compared to True Lies, Terminator I & II, Kindergarten Cop... That from an Arnie fan (and oh I hated "The end of days")

T3? Jesus I pretend none of the other Terminators exist actually. I saw him in a good film recently though called Aftermath, heavy stuff for Arnie. Way off topic!! Apologies. Must check this shit game out and see how shit it is. |

I am not a fan of beat-em-ups with their confusing array of joystick moves and the seemingly endless onslaught of enemies that you have to pummel over and over before they finally die. It's been years since I tried to play one, and I was never much good at it. But as I watched this 'shit game' YouTube review I wondered - was the reviewer being fair? It didn't look that hard. So was it really that shitty, or was someone just a shit player? There was only one way to find out - I had to play it myself. And... was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't nearly as frustrating as I expected. It starts off well with a solid soundtrack and good introductions to the characters you will meet. The in-game graphics are fine and the pace is good. Your character lumbers along at the speed you would expect from Arnie, and even though the others move faster you can still keep away from them if you plan your movements. More importantly, a few quick jabs in the right place are all you need to lay an enemy out. It doesn't take much to dispatch them and there isn't a seemingly endless stream of buddies waiting to take their place. I only played the game for a few minutes, long enough to get through a few screens on 'easy' difficulty before losing all my lives. But my skill level improved rapidly as I learned the strategies required to take out the enemies while avoiding being beaten up myself, and the music kept me in the mood without getting tiresome. Loading times were acceptable so dying wasn't too annoying. The one thing I hate about most 'arcade' computer games is their mimicking the commercial arcade machine's need to make money and so making it too hard to play for long without dying. Some of us don't have the time or the stamina to play a game over and over until we get good enough to progress through it. But with a few more lives and/or the ability to save as you progress I think this game could be quite enjoyable for people like me who are shit players. Technically this game is competent - with good graphics, smooth animation, reasonable sound effects and appropriate background music. The gameplay is satisfying enough that I wanted to keep playing, and easy enough that I think I could do better with practice. I rate it not shit. |

Good god that's shite. The only good part about that video is the clicky clicky clicky of your joystick.

I am really surprised someone thinks Mars Attacks is better than LAH. I agree with Foebane, Mars Attacks was unfunny, cheesy and too forced most of the time.
LAH was a really great movie IMO. The game is awful, but I always thought it had the basis to be great, if the devs could polish it more. A lot more. True Lies got a pretty good game on the SNES and Mega-Drive. |

Well, if you compare it to T2 and T1, it certainly do.
But lots of people started to realize it was actually not that bad, if you compare it to the later Terminator movies. Same for Alien 3 movie. A big disappointment from the fans when it was released, but it was masterpiece if you compare it to Alien 4. (I actually liked Alien 3 from the start) |

I also enjoyed Alien 3 from the start. David Fincher has done some great films. Personally like Mars Attacks I think it's supposed to be cheesy. I see LAH as more of a kids film though, like BIG but you can still enjoy as an adult but just remember its for kids. Mars Attacks isn't for kids in my opinion, not really although I suppose they might enjoy it. |
