scanning disks, is it safe ?

I've got a few that arent on HOLl yet, but i don't wanna screw up my originals do I
i've got a canon lide and the wierd light that comes from it when scanning is pretty scary
try finding the info on google, its hard, it seems to think you want info on scanning for viruses etc and i couldnt find nothing.

so can it damage the disks

I agree, I can't think of a single incident where image scanning a floppy disc would cause any disc errors or problems

Two very different things - optical, and magenetic. I can't think of any reason why one would effect the other.

What about CDs though? It is always recommended to not leave CDs out in sunlight.

That's mainly to do with heat though, which scanners give off very little of. Also the UV may be a risk.
