Is The Delfina Compatible With AmigaAmp?

Hey Yo!

I have the chance of buying the Delfina Lite (the old Petsoff one i think). I was wondering whether this Delfina is compatible with AmigaAmp (i HATE AMPlifier!)

Regards

AmigaAmp does support AHI as far as I remember, so yes it should be.

@CU_AMIGA
Yeh, I used a Delfina Lite with both AmigaAmp and Amplifier on the A4000 a while back. I vaguely remember one chewing up a little more CPU time than the other (by using a fancy but mostly useless GUI??), so I mostly used the other. Must fire both of them up to remember which is which. Out of curiosity, what don't you like about Amplifier?

@ Mad-Matt

Yeah i got the latest update for Amplfier (installed BB1 and 1). But AMPlifier still doesn't play all of my mp3. So if i used AmigaAmp with AHI for mp3 playback, will i get any CPU load or will it make use of the DSP?

Regards

Of course it uses the DSP, that´s what it´s for

There IS a slight CPU load but that´s with every Soundcard you put in your Amiga

The card itself can play ALL kind of sounds, as well as Paula does

The software limits the fileformats that are available, not the hardware

Spoken by a software engineer.

Although the Delfina COULD play other formats, there is only software / drivers for PCM and MPEG.

If you can play anything else with a Delfina... software converts it to PCM first.
