@AmigaBill: Thanks man, I'll be there!

@Amigajay: well, I didn't know there was demand for jewel cases vs dvd cases...

@Akira: The development time is pretty reasonable for the scope of the project, the features included and the fact that it's not a Backbone game imho. As for the price I don't disagree, obviously if it was less expensive we could possibly have more digital backers. Then again, I guess we'll see

AlarCity - PixelGlass latest Amiga game gets an early teaser demo!

Quote:
We've already done a big feature for this game, but this latest announcement is more towards an update, as we've been told by PixelGlass, that their in-development top down shooter now comes with a nice demo of which you can play right now on your Amiga. This demo features fast 50hz scrolling, tons of projectiles, effects, and enemies to wipe out all contained within a game of lovely Amiga detail!

Download it and play it I love it looks great and there is visible big progress since first survival demo. New shop works good and I like how different blobs got different behaviors. I manage to survive 8 minutes, definitely like those tense action when there's lot of blobs on screen and You have to dance between them to not get swarmed.

Glad you liked it
I hope the result justifies the time it took us to get it there.

This was a big bet basically. We wanted each blob type (and size) to have a different set of behaviours and special abilities, not just be the same enemy only with different stats (stronger, faster e.t.c.). The moment we got the shooting enemies in it really did changed the whole gameplay.

Yup, or getting those precious gems behind them or a potion you really need!

Yes, I have reached elemental hero rank with single sitting. With cheating I have reached elemental demigod it was worth to play with level six rail gun against three giant size blobs. I wish there could be more types of blobs with later waves.

@spacey Thanks mate!

@Gzegzolka there's a cheat code in the demo, but that's the only thing we've hidden.

Some random bits of news.

This weekend there's a high score competition on various Amiga games, AlarCity is one of them.

http://highscore.fozztexx.com/

AmigaBill's doing a stream about the event in around nine hours, so maybe we'll get to see another high score run of his on the game!

Also, if you missed it, AmigaBill also did a stream about AlarCity (and a few other projects from myself and Tsak) a couple of weeks ago. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/205040344

Like I said on Twitter, somebody's going to have to check me in to rehab because AlarCity is so addictive Loving the game. Last night I laid down a 9,725. It was a 20 minute run. I will see if I can beat that today. However I was using an emulator which makes it substantially easier. Today I will use my A1200 and will be streaming - both of those things make it much more difficult! I have my pre-order in with AmigaNet! Maybe I will see you later, but I think 12 noon for me is like 6am for you? Oooof!

Thanks @bimbo!

@AmigaBill: wow, you're getting better at this!
I was really surprised to see the demo in a competition! Reminds me of EAB vs Lemon tournament

Thanks! Game should be rated 'A' (for Addictive) then

Anyone else tried the demo? What stuff did you like and what you didn't? What do you think of the overal quality? Let's hear some feedback

And remember: we're still far away from our 200 presales goal. So if you really liked this demo and our work so far please consider supporting it!
