Homemade Amiga Joystick
Built myself an amiga 2 button joystick out of a jiffy box and some arcade parts.
It's not actually as bulky as the pics make it out to be and very comfortable to hold in your hands or play off a table. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by T_hairy_bootson; 30 December 2009 at 07:39. |

![]() The only thing I am not too happy about is that the fire buttons are not flush, they are raised with spacers due to the button assembly being taller than the case. |

Ok m8, can you do me a favour... did you make plans for the holes at all?
I would like the dimensions of the box. Im going to build a couple of these things using some cheap crappy pc usb gamepads as the controller part and then hack on the buttons, joystick etc ![]() This will kick ass with winuae and mame ![]() |

Nice joystick.
How about replacing the bolts with black nylon numberplate bolts? I think they're M6 by roughly 20mm long. Cheers. |

Me neither, although when I played Gauntlet 2 on my mate's Atari ST (SORRY!) (4 player, some in special under the ST ports) using a 6 button Sega pad, I could make one of the other players walk in two directions and make him fire. AWESOME. Strange how he kept running into the Dragon.

Got an idea of building the same thing as T_hairy_bootson but instead of just having it amiga compatible, I was going to gut one of them competition pro usb joysticks and have pc compatible aswell for winuae and other emulators
I have found mame control kits on fleabay and all I need now is the ideal dimensions for the project boxes ![]() |

You would probably want a bigger box than mine then. Mine only holds two buttons. The button assembly is too long to fit, so I had to use spacers.
Anyways the box is 50mm x 155mm x 95mm. |
