Retro Gaming Weekend event...

Hi all,

24th and 25th July 2004 sees the first "Classic Gaming Expo UK" taking place just outside of London at the Fairfield Halls.

This is a "hands-on event" : you can come and play on Arcade machines, computers and consoles from the 70's through to the 90's.

We have a "Learn how to build your own arcade cabinet" workshop.

So far, we have at least one (but hopefully both) of the Oliver Twins attending (the Oliver Twins are the creators of, amongst other things, the DIZZY games, i.e. Treasure Island Dizzy).

It's going to be a cracking good weekend.

We already have quite a few exhibitors lined up, but if anyone fancies creating games, demos, music or anything else that they would like to show off at the event, then we will run a few competitions....

Check out our website www.cgexpo-uk.com or e-mail us at info@cgexpo-uk.com

Why does everything always take place down or near London.

I'd go if it wasn't so far away. Midlands is the place to organise events, so everyone travels a fair distance and B&B costs as little as £20 a night.

Hope everyone has a great time though.

This is the first CGEUK and depending on how this one goes, we will aim to host 2 per year - one down south, and one in somewhere like Blackpool....

I agree with Blood. Birminham is basically the center of the UK, stuff should take place there. Hell of a lot easier for most people to get to than sodding London.
