I tried this morning. Without any ramboard or anything it gives a message with big letters of HARDWARE FAILURE. It doesn't run.
But as I told, with just a ramboard with 4mb it runs full speed. Quote:
If you want you can rename in your PC the xxx.iso as xxx.rar and extract all the content, but later I don't know if you can run it in the miggy being made for the CD32, I don't know a way. |

Also tried your floppy Retrofan. With Simon The Sorceror. ACA 56mhz card. It boots fine, but also the stuttering during the intro. This happens while it's reading the content on the iso (loading). When it doesn't load, everything runs at full speed.
In the game itself everything seems fine. And I also get the message I can't save. I better use my real CD32 |

Yes, Spanner
Riempie I'm going to try with Simon. I've only tried Microcosm. EDIT: TRIED. What can I tell? I've just watched the intro, as you say it was stuttering.... Full speed with my ACA1231/42. Then I've installed my shit of Amitek Hawk ramboard with 4mb and .... Full speed of the intro. That with Simon the Sorcerer. ... I have to say that it played right with the ACA and when installing the Hawk it gave an error in the CF. The partition I was using has around 20Gb, so I suposse that as the Floppy doesn't use any Scsi.device prepared for large partitions that was the problem. Dunno if copying in Devs an updated Scsi.device it won't give that problem. I've copied the iso to an smaller partition and the Hawk was playing perfect. If you need it I can make a video, I can use an ACA1230/56 even . What can I say? -Are you while booting pressing both buttons of the mice and disabling the bootable partition/s? I suposse so, as if I don't do so it boots DH0 in mine. -What File System are you using and with how much buffers? I'm using PFS3DS (the best install guide here ) with 300 Buffers where I've got now the Isos (a 4Gb partition). I think that could be the problem. -About that you can't save it, I can't do anything. I'm sure in mine will be the same. -And the last thing, just curiosity, why do you want to play STS? It seems exactly the same than the WHDLoad AGA version for the miggy . Its deffo not a buffers or filesystem problem.
As I have had these games running perfect before on my old config. Using just 3.1 FFS and 30 buffers. Need more investigating. Just havent got my A1200 here at the moment. |

Retrofan: I don't want to play STS. I was just curious to see if it would work The talkie-version is nice though.
I use FFS. I bought the cf-hd from Amigakit. |

Kickstarts 3.1?
Edit: http://wiki.classicamiga.com/Kickstart_Roms_Explained Why upgrade from Kickstart 3.0 to Kickstart 3.1? If you own an A1200 or A4000 with Kickstart 3.0 Roms installed, then you might wonder what the advantages are, and why it is worth upgrading to the newer 3.1 roms. Here are some of the main changes 3.1 offers over 3.0. 3.0 cannot run AmigaOS later than 3.1 (it doesn't support loading in modules from AmigaOS updates like 3.1 does) 3.1 contains many bug fixes to the libraries both internally and on the disk 3.1 is more up-to-date 3.1 supports the Akiko chip when used on a CD32 3.1 supports the extra CD32 libraries that are built into ROM (namely lowlevel.library and nonvolatile.library) 3.1 contains minor improvements to RTG handling 3.1 contains the additional datatypes: ANIM and CDXL 3.1 introduces a small delay whilst checking for hard drives. This gets around the old 3.0 bug whereby a hard drive is not always recognised from cold boot. Last edited by Retrofan; 05 August 2012 at 01:50. |

I just put a link to the differences between using 3.0 and 3.1 and in what affects the last to the CD32. Why? Because it's a case of spot the differences.
- We are using the same floppy, - I've just tried with an ACA1230/56 that works right too. So? The only differences could be the kickstarts (now it can't) and the Compact Flash Hardrive. Do you say Fol that you are trying my floppy (not yours)* and running Simon The Sorcerer with a Cf HD with FFS? Then I don't have an idea what the problem is. *In my floppy I copied a couple of files from a place to another (copied, not moved), like SimCD32Env as in Fol's s-s it was pointing C:, and it was in another place. Also I added execute in C, as when running the last part of the s-s it gave an error of unknown command. Last edited by Retrofan; 05 August 2012 at 15:52. |

FOL: sfs? Your website says it will be pre-formatted with FFS unless I want it otherwise. I haven't asked for SFS so I assumed it's FFS.

I've just tried it in WinUAE. a1200+8mb_31 configuration. I've added two directories in Hardrives. One with my Floppy named SimCD in which I've changed first the s-s to point to ISOS:Simon_The_Sorcerer.iso and another one named ISOS with the STS iso.
It works perfect. Edit: My Iso is from Emuparadise, but I don't think I can post a link here. Last edited by Retrofan; 05 August 2012 at 16:03. |
