FFS2 long filenames
Apparently AmigaOS 4.1 comes with FFS2, a re-written backward-compatible filesystem. There's a 68K version of it so it could be used with classic Amigas without OS 4.1. [I'm assuming the only "proper" way to get a copy of FFS2 is to buy OS 4.1.]
A new DosType DOS\7 allows long filenames. Is there any specification/documentation on the changes/differences which allow for longer names? |

If it works on 68k systems, I would guess anyone with a legal copy of a 68K system should have the right to have it!

@ mark_k
Olaf Barthel is the man to ask - he wrote the new version. There is definitely some excellent documentation included with 4.1 but I don't know if it gets to the precise level of technical detail you're looking for. |
