Classicwb winuae hdd issues

Decided to redo a friend cd32 with classicwb adv pack and while i can install it no problem trying to get it to see my my 2nd hdd image is near impossible

Few questions first

1.is there any consequences to useing uaescsi or the uae controller when righting back to a real cf card

2. What is with this uae0 and ide0 stuff it driving me nuts.

3. Is using full rdb mode needed.

4. Is there support for the ide controller if using cd32 roms

A few thing to note i know about the scsi.device need to be patched and pfs3aio for the large drive support same with maxtranfer

Ok now am fed up try a few extra things

1. Try the amiga 1200 kickstart 3.1 roms with ide controller both with a cf hdf image file and a normal cf card show up as unk hdtoolbox does not see it

Scratch that

Ok if i create a basic 1200 profile and add my cf card it shows

So how do i get to show up in my classicwb image. Try changing ide channels that doesn't work

If you have to use hdd image on real Amiga you have to use the HD Controller "Commodore A600/A1200/A4000 IDE" and set RDB Mode

Done this with HDToolbox you have to initialize, partition HD, in ToolType Icon HDToolBox you have to set scsi.device

Remember that the operating system where HDToolBox is installed must also be set with HD Controller "Commodore A600/A1200/A4000 IDE"

@amigasystem

Thanx

But the classicwb hdf is based on the uae controller while my cf hdf image is based on the ide controller

I just been able to get my hdf image to show up on my classicwb system hdf image by renameing my classicwb from dh0 to cwb

Going to double verify before i mark as solved
Solved but i have a funny feeling i may need to revisited this thread at some point

To explain things in full.

I created a 32gb empty hdf from a empty cf card to write back at a later date

The user am working on this for seem to of taking a liking to one of the classicwb packs so i decided to get work on setting things up

And while it easy enough to do i guess i keep forgetting a few things once you add the system.hdf it assign itself as dh0 so maybe it wise to rename as cwb.

This step i keep forgetting so when am adding my own hdf guess it conflicting

On Amiga it is important not to have the same names as Disk or Partition, this applies to both the system partition and the other partitions.

To boot more HardFiles with the same names you can solve somehow by changing the Device name on WinUAE and unchecking "bootable" on the guest Hardfile that should not boot.

In some cases if you don't want to have problems you need to rename even if "momentarily" the name of the host hard disk volumes.

Important, never connect two HardFiles with different HDController because in some cases the second one will not be visible

A little further update on this the classicwb configuration included either had certain features disable ide wise or is bugged

Sorry but it didnt take long for the issue to reappeared with my 2nd hdd not showing

Fully solved by saying bugger to the classicwb config create a basic A1200 config and it show up every time
