It is "When dreams come true"
Shatterhand: That ain't the tunnel they were originally talking about methinks! The tunnel that appears in that cracktro is the one you see at the highscore table. Anyway, that was a really good read! I dont have that The One issue, otherwise I would have scanned it I really should fill the gaps, I have a lot of issues but not all Codetapper: Simon Byron was a staffer at The One |

It's 4:30 AM here and I am about to go to bed, so I won't type the rest of the article now
Tomorrow I'll do it with pleasure... I noticed it wasn't the same tunnel we were talking about, but it made for some nice reading anyway @Amigaboy Thx for the info, now I you got me interested in playing MK2 with extra memory in emulators, just to see the extra speech... |

Shatterhand, do try it. I dont remember extra music but I do remember the extra samples and the cache. All this magically appeared when I upgraded my 600 to 2MB
Another game taking advantage of the extra mem is Uridium 2. LOts of extra samples are loaded to memory (each weapon has now a sample saying what it is, for example ) |

Yeah, I've noticed that in Uridium 2..
Total Football, a game that has been recently uploaded in the zone, is other one that uses extra memory to add extra speech, more crowd animations and more players animations |

I remember a hate-cracktro against paranomia. I think it was fairlight's and they called'em paralameia it may be skid row's as well. I voted for fairlight, their cracks never caused problems for me actually some of them had pal<->ntsc switch function which came quite handy. hmm syndicate had it and maybe hired guns as well. I especially despise skid row's non working goldbox game cracks like pools of darkness. They thought they've cracked it but later in the game, (about a few hundred hours later) copy protection screen appeared.

I'm not voting !!! Too many to choose from (including loads not on the list).
But how would you judge the best group ? 1 - The Best Releases (in terms of good games) 2 - The Quickest Releases 3 - The Best Intros (for those who like 'em) 4 - The Easiest-to-Skip Intros/No Intros (for those who hate 'em!) 5 - Best Music 6 - Best Crack (?) Don't understand that - a crack works or it don't! 7 - Coolest Name The list could go on and on and on. I say they were all great and they were all bad too. Bad because if there had been no cracks they'd have been no copying - maybe the Amiga would be a round today if they'd have been no piracy ? Good because as the Amiga is no longer produced, you cannot get the games, the disks are wearing out etc... - but as they've cracked all these games we can ADF 'em ! Double-edged sword....chicken egg....... ! Too much confusion, no voting from me ! |

Hey,
just found Cody's list of crackers here (search option), and as he was so clever to mix up crackers (PERSONS) and crackers (GROUPS) I wondered what Weetibix was. (He made some good cracks, e. g. "F.O.F.T.") So is that a group or a guy? - Thanks to the other thread in 'Nostalgia & Memories', I found out that it's a guy cracking for ORACLE. Cody, could you split up the list into cracking GROUPS and PERSONS instead of mixing them up into one single list? Last edited by andreas; 17 October 2002 at 15:06. |

I voted for Crystal simply because their intros remain in my head (Some were just crystal cracked etc..) but the good ones like the bouncy rabbit etc.. were great.
Fairlight come in close behind (a tough choice!) their cracks were top notch, and they released ALOT of the stuff 1993-1995 As for the others Skid Row were quite memorable and were the first cracking group I remember, as for others Paradox were okay and quite similar to Crystal I suppose (in intro design etc..) |

I did that list a while ago - I'm not really interested in the cracking groups anymore, because TOSEC deals with it all and I usually only play stuff from WHDLoad installs...
So, it'll have to stay as it is! |

In my time (1990 and before) Quartex seemed to have the most cracks of anyone. I was a member of Paranoimia, Defjam and MAAD. We didn't do so bad. |
