"mod.beast song" author?

Recently got onto this board, and struggling to quickly increase my posting-rate it seems

Joke aside, I have a real question : while posting/reading on that board, deliplayer just played a very old module named "beast-song", by an unknown author. Even Gryzor, when making his excellent "mods anthology" 4CD pack, did not find the author, as he credited it as "not by Fred"...

Any ideas?

(I can send you the mod if ya want )

sorry no idea.
but this is just one common mod, not one excellent one...
(from one tech point of view) basic samples, basic melodies..

check http://mods.abime.net/ for better songs.

heheh, I know it's rather basic, but, well, I really **LIKE** that module, with no reasonable explanation

Thanx for the link, but I have a really rather "complete" mods collection (Gryzor's "Mods Anthology", plus lots of other stuff )

It's from the demo "Pha Q" by Scoopex....

EDIT: Just watched the demo again.... beast song is from the second part. The music is credited to Hi-Lite & Fred, but doesn't specify who did what....

*If* its definitely not by Fred it must have been done by Hi-Lite....

Actually, I think beastsong might be by Fred after all.....

I ripped both mods from Pha Q, and found mind-distortion (part 1) is credited to Hi-Lite in the sample names, but beastsong says "music by fred in 1993"

thanx for the info maddog!!

hmmm..as for Fred, I insist on the fact that when Gryzor compiled "mods anthology", he made quite a thorough job (re)crediting correctly the modules, thus he contacted lots of "old days" authors to be sure not to make mistakes, and FRED HIMSELF SAID HE WAS NOT THE AUTHOR OF THIS MODULE .

...but maybe he forgot about this one?

Thanks once again!

Ciao!!

Check this: http://amp.dascene.net/result.php?re...es&search=fred

There are actually 4 people who made modules with the handle Fred!

The Fred on the Mods Anthology is Frederic Hahn. I think the Fred from beastsong & Scoopex is Frederic Flavion.

So I guess "Fred" was correct when he told Gryzor he didn't do it
