On 1240/40 AGA PAL i got 8-9FPS in rooms and ca 5-6FPS in open space. 040 version without music. 060 one plays music but it's also slowest.

Is there possibility to decrease resolution or display size? When i tried change res from 320x240 in ini file, game loads and opens smaller display but nothing is there except black color.

Unfortunately the detail settings from the DOS version didn't make it into TFE, as they wouldn't make sense on modern platforms. I'll try to figure something out to improve the performance on 040. Also thanks for the feedback about the music, I finally have a lead besides "doesn't work".

edit: I uploaded an update, the game will now look for the MIDI output cluster, instead of using "out.0" to fix the issue Ponki1986 had with CAMD. The built in synth is now also fixed in the 040 version, and the performance should be a bit better.

Previously, I only ran the 040 version and couldn't hear the music. Someone wrote above to run version 060, which with MIDI_Instruments normally plays music during the game.Of course, in the settings I entered midiType=2. Anyway, it gives a link to the SnoopDos.

The log is in Polish so where it says BLAD=ERROR, ODCZYT=READ, ZAPIS=WRITE, WER=VERSION. The log is in ISO 8859-2 encoding.

Another question: Which key in the game opens the door? Or what is the full key binding?

Only after uploading the log file did I notice that you uploaded a new version. The new version plays with CAMD and uae.out.0 without any problems. Cool. Thank you.

Got it running on my A4000 060 50MHz. The frame rate is a bit low but it's perfectly playable. Great job so far, look forward to future optimisation!

Sorry, I should have made a new post instead of editing the last one. It's great to hear the problem is now solved.

I'll add the keyboard layout to the readme for reference. BTW, I hope the new 040 version will perform better, I rebuilt it from the latest sources.

ehm, my fault.
this is result output of UAE config.
when in WinUAE "IO Port" you choose "Microsoft Midi-Mapper", the .UAE config generate an:

win32.midiout_device=-1

that nothing to do with Darkforces config file

I don't understand how Estrayk's 060 50Mhz (Trinity 1260) runs this game significantly faster than my TF1260 at 50Mhz, even when chipmem and fastram bustest results are bit faster on TF1260.

For example, Estraya's video shows 20fps when facing this wall, but my system rests at 13-14 fps at the same place.

Seems very smooth to me on a TF1260/63. I'm not going to run it at 100mhz as it's fine as is. I will activate the frame counter next time.

I have this weird thing where I start to move about my myself after using the right should button to side step. I have to press it a few times to snap out of it. Using PS1 controller and adapter on my A1200. Adapter is set to behave as cd32 pad.

Also do I have to do something to get music running?

Very impress so far, can't believe how smooth it runs without any extra 060 over clocking.

Thumbs up What a nice port.

I just tested the ForceEngine port on my A3000 and was more than just a little impressed how well it runs. Last time I've played this game was on ShapeShifter way back and the Mac version didn't do too well.

I got between 35 and 45 FPS in the first two levels on my A3000 (BFG9060@100 MHz and CV64).

What I couldn't get to work was settings menus (maybe not implemented/enabled yet?). I also noticed that I start without any weapons when loading a level >1 from the main menu (maybe that is part of the original game experience, which I in all honesty don't remember).
