Legend of hero Tonma from Irem. The game uses the same hardware as other Irem games from that years and most of them were ported (for example Dragon Breed) with quite good quality. Tonma even appeared on 8-bit machines but not on Amiga.

Tonma will be tough, graphic is very colorful hence might go straight to AGA - the PC Engine port however could be used as reference

Star Control II. Would've needed a hard drive install BITD but the sound is virtually already ported!

Saint Dragon or Dragon Breed were also colorful and it is to seen in the port version. There wasn't any real obstacles to make a port, just no one did it. Irem didn't port own games, they just sold rights to do this.

Saint Dragon is NOT Irem but SNK

Furthermore the graphical style on Dragon Breen is more prone to come out with less colors; Tonma use a more colorful cartoony look than usual Irem games of the time, 16 colors might look dull, 32 decent

Backgrounds could be dull but enemies are colorful and i would like to avoid a dull coloring like on Mega Twins

Magnetik Tank, Sabre Wulf, Ghostbusters (Ghostbusters II took a drastically different approach), Super Cycle...

True. In the meantime, why not give a try to the PC remake ? Indeed, in 2010, Retrospec made a well regarded remake of Knight Lore.

Always felt that the original Resident Evil could have been an 030 CD-ROM candidate.

Super Puzzle Fighter II could be possible on Amiga. A great 2 player Tetris variant.

Thank you guys for all these different nominations.

I have another non-Amiga game to name but this time an early one, very early one: 10th Frame

It's a nice bowling game that came out in 1986: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10th_Frame.

The Amstrad CPC, C64, IBM PC, MSX and ZX Spectrum versions don't look like an Amiga game at all. But there was a 1987 Atari ST version that...

...ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN AMIGA (EARLY) GAME:

Here a recent video: [ Show youtube player ].

35 (!) years later, it would be a good candidate for AmigaLive.

@meynaf: If you read this...

Thinking about it, there are probably a lot of Japanese PC-88/98 titles which would work well on the Amiga, technically speaking, with improvements rather than sacrifices depending on game & system. Visual novel titles especially, as they would mostly just require disk space (maybe quite a bit of it). Not sure if I ever saw one. There were a few attempts at mimicking the style, but I can't remember seeing a port. The markets were very separated I suppose. Some Amiga franchises made it over to Japan, less so the other way around (visual novels and art heavy games I mean). However, many of the neat PC-98 titles came out after the Amiga era.

I suppose on a stock A500 setup with a TV some of the hirez modes might be problematic. Puzzle games like Puyo Puyo might not lose much in translation (it has a bunch of fancy portraits and funny scenes alongside the simple drop mechanics). Last Armageddon (and other encounter RPGs) might not be much of a problem either. It has a rather unique atmosphere/world building.

Looked at the screenshots, don't think I will bother. Part of the charm of the original game was the minimalist graphics. As usual the PC remake has gone over the top with 'enhanced' graphics, spoiling the game.

I would say for similar game a style like in Viva Mortis seems to be the best of both worlds, plus can seemingly be done by Amiga OCS/ECS considered the speccy palette is max 15 colors (no, Black bright 1 does not count) And screw the "is not a worthy 16 bit game" crew!

Spectrum style graphics without the color clash - I like it! Hopefully an Amiga port would be a bit slower...

Fair enough. What about MSX2 port then (courtesy of Manuel Pazos) ? Could be worth a try with an MSX emulator if you fancy your lycanthrope with a little mustache .

Rastan Saga. It was advertised in various magazines but never saw the light of day (I've mentioned this before )
