Older WinUAE version wanted

Hi Guys,
I’m hoping someone has an older WinUAE download package that would be
expected to work with Windows XP, and could be uploaded to the Zone or something like that.

The laptop I want to use it with is Win XP (SP3) 1GHz 512Mb RAM,
and I’ve tired the oldest and newest versions available currently on the website,
both of which crash immediately on launch.
Cheers

It's not Windows XP, it's your laptop or maybe drivers or some unknown thing.
On my Windows XP even latest beta WinUAE is working.

I had to go back to 2.6.0 (2.7.0 wouldn’t install).
It runs hopelessly, but it might be ok with an editor/compiler which was the idea.

I’ve done all I could think of with updates already.

You don't need to use the installer; just extract the .ZIP archives instead.

Which CPU does your laptop have?

For system-friendly programs like an editor you can adjust emulation settings to perform significantly better. E.g. disable cycle-exact, enable JIT, set collision level to none, disable audio, immediate blitter. And an RTG Workbench screenmode might work faster.
