Accelerators
Anyone fancy selling me their fully working, non-upgraded or tinkered with Phase 5 Blizzard 1260 IV?
Name your price and I'll see how deep my pocket gets. Yeah, I know, slim chance, laugh it up gents... I would swap a Phase 5 Blizzard 1230 IV with 68882 FPU & 8Mb SIMM and an Apollo 1260 with 32Mb SIMM for it instead if that helps...? Why? Well, personally, having used both types of accelerator, I prefer the Blizzards (fit in the trapdoor easier, keypress at boot to disable etc.) and I would like my 060 accelerator with more than 32Mb RAM. I want to get into doing some serious A1200 + 060 coding. |

My newly acquired A1200 (that replaced the fried one...) is now running Blizzard 1260 accelerated with 128Mb RAM.
Now I can watch all those cool TBL demos on the real thing! \o/ Gotta thank DoogUK for selling me his Blizzard 1240. Gotta thank Zetr0 for his evil genius plan of getting that card upgraded to 1260. And gotta thank Per Gunnar for doing the upgrade really fast. Maybe now I can think about trying some A1200 / AGA coding too - once I've done a few more retro effects first of course. |

@ alexh - no, didn't sell them off.
The only thing I lack at the moment is a processor in the Apollo 1260 - I nicked the processor from that (cos it was socketed and was the latest mask) to send to Per Gunnar along with the Blizz 1240 for the upgrade. I have ordered a new processor for the Apollo from Amigamaniac.com but it hasn't come through yet... |

Watcha Doogster!
I'll see if I can rob the wife's digital camera in a minute and take some pics. I'll have to let the '060 cool down a bit first - it's hot cos I've just been watching TBL's Starstruck demo and it has to work hard to keep up with the code in that! First time I've seen it on the real thing and not the emulator. That demo R-U-L-E-S! My favourite new skool demo by far at the moment - can't get over how good the 3D objects and texture mapping is... Kalms and the other TBL boys: |

And here's a closeup of the back of the processor's pins so you can see PG's soldering skills:
