ClassicWB with 1.3 theme

Just had a quick play around with the ClassicWB LITE and thought a 1.3 theme would be cool.

Always liked the look of good old 1.3.

What do you think? It would only have basic icons as there are not many old school ones around that look good. But very low on RAM usage though.

That's a good point though.

Perhaps, we are talking 1.3, but I don't run workbench for the looks - I run it for nostalgia!

Just filling in the time between F1 qualifying and the race!

Thanks Kitty, you have great taste!

These nay sayers don't know how to respect the 1.3!!!

Actually, the shade of blue is far too bright. The original is no way as in your face - it's much darker! I shall tweak. Yes I am that bored at the moment.

It's a great theme Bloodwych!

Those who say that is ugly only had the Amiga experience in the 90's and are missing the first 5 years!

What I was thinking, was a 1.3 theme and also a standard Workbench grey/white 4 colour theme for those who don't want the 8 colour icons (perhaps for performance reasons).

Of course, I'll have to do it for the different packs (GAAE, 68K, LITE, perhaps even FULL and the OS39 packs). Anyway, if there are any updates I'll post in the forum. It might take a little time to complete (actually a long time knowing me).

It will probably be added as an option during install.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder or something like that
I guess a setup like this could be good on my A600 -maybe a choice of Blue1.3 or Grey2.X+
Its just when I think of Workbench 1.3 I think of Kick 1.3 and the terible pull down menus haveing to type CD before a folder and the dreadful NotePad

Bllodwych, i might have amongst my collection a lot of PD disks from the a500 days, which boot into WB first - they are usually compilations of 2-3 tools and the odd game. I seem to remember some good icons on a few (there was a particularly amusing 'ram disk' on one, as i recall.

Would you like me to have a look to see if there are a few more icons that might help?

It's true Boo Boo, using 1.3 is kind of backward after you are used to 2.0+. Especially since the vast majority of programs were for the later Workbenches.

However, I have fond memories of using the shell for just about everything back then and I love the charm of the full screen colourful programs I used - X-Copy, Protracker, CED, Diskmaster etc

Look here: [ Show youtube player ]

Now that is a ClassicWB!!!

Hungry Horace - yes, that would be cool.

I wouldn't mind doing a pack that uses all those old programs in that vid too. Perhaps a Workbench 1.3 pack!!!! Although I'm not sure if WHDLoad runs under 1.3, plus hard disks only autoboot in WinUAE - don't think a 1.3/2 kickstart autobooted hard drives by default.

Would have loved a hard drive for an A500 back in the day - but I was merely a kid, no chance of buying one then!

You're better off having a go yourself Kitty - I never get around to finishing much these days.

Even your mighty whip will do no good!
