lua support in WinUAE

I noticed recently that WinUAE has added lua support. I've used this in other emulators to do register logging and was hoping I can do the same thing on Amiga. Got a couple of questions:

1) I'm assuming I don't need to install anything else to get this working? When I add the lua= line to my config file it immediately crashes out the emulator if I have anything in the lua file it's pointing at. Assuming it's probably my syntax? (using 4.4.0 x64 zip from the website)

2) To get output into a file do I use the standard lua io device, the log command from luascript.cpp or pipe it out via the commandline? I'm assuming something like:

while true do
l_uae_log(l_uae_peek_u16(address))
end

Would save the value of a register out constantly to the winuae log? I see there's also a way to check for the next vblank which is useful.

Thanks in advance,

It was never finished, I think it was some kind of experiment. I don't even remember what it was supposed to do anymore

Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can get something similar out of the debugger or something. Basically I'm trying to log the audio register data per frame so those plus the sync registers will probably get me what I'm looking for.
