A1200 Keyboard Spacebar
Does anyone know where I can get replacements for the two side springs and (most importantly) the metal bar of an A1200 space bar? I've had a look around the stores and certainly seen sets of keys and some springs, but I've not seen anywhere I can just get the two missing springs and that damned bar/rod.

You need to steal them from another Amiga keyboard. :-/

Seems I might just have to live with one spring for now. It's about £60+ for a used A1200 keyboard on ebay, and I'm not going to pay that for a couple of springs and a length of metal.
Hopefully one of those sexy mechanical replacements will turn up again at some point in the near future. |

What about a Amiga A500 keyboard? They tend to be cheaper to buy Bromigo!

Yeah about £20 cheaper by the looks of it, but still too much for the parts I need to replace, IMO.
I do intend to replace the whole dang thing with an appropriate brand new replacement when there's something out there that I can do that with, and it does work, (if somewhat shoddy) so I'm not in dire need. Was just hoping someone knew something I didn't so I could source a stop-gap. |

You can make them - what you need depends on on the metal. I think the Amiga wire was a bit thinner than modern keyboards, where I use approximately 1.8mm bicycle spokes. Check any model store for piano wire, aka control rod wire. If you bend accurately it will be as good as the original part.
