Can't get into Workbench

OK, I'm a newbie and know almost nothing about Amigas. But, I've got FS-UAE on my Mac, a whole host of Kickstarter ROMs, load of Workbench floppies (but only about four are on a single disc), but I'm failing to get Workbench running.

I can get a green screen which blanks to black every so often. I can also get a screen telling me that it is waiting for bootable media. I have managed to get a blue screen (AROS) but can't type anything. I have also managed to get a screen where I can type something, but I don't know what to type.

This is trying various different models, various different Kickstarter ROMs, even the defaults or internals, and different floppy images.

All I'm after is a setup where I can look at the contents of Amiga discs, and maybe even format them.

Ah...I think I need to purchase the Amiga Forever Disc Image Pack for Workbench. Would I be right?

OK - got it. I bought the Workbench pack from Amiga Forever, and didn't bother with a Kickstarter ROM...just used the Default and it appears to work.

Not sure if you can mingle AROS kickstarts with a regular Workbench and vice versa..

Use something like regular Kickstart 3.1 with regular workbench 3.1 on a Amiga hardware setup environment, and it should work.
