SRAM Question
Anyone know if one of these will work in an A600:

While I do not own one they specs say they are type 1 or type 2 PCMCIA PC-Card SRAM which do work in A600/A1200.
£100 for 4 (£25 each) is a reasonable price too, and I see he's selling two more lots |

Thanks I've just contacted him and he's agreed to sell me one at £25 and is planning to split them into seperate auctions. All this just to get ATrain working in high resolution mode

Bummer, he only posts to UK
I'd grab one of those in a second if I could, great find Lorfarius. Last edited by Cammy; 25 February 2010 at 18:40. |

Hi Cammy,
I have also contacted the seller through my eBay account asking whether he is prepared to sell the cards individually (no answer yet). Would you like me to buy one on your behalf if he makes it possible for me to do so? |

He seems to be ignoring my messages now. I suspect he's seen that daft auction at £46 and thinks they are all worth the same.

Lets hit 'buy it now' at £100 and divi up four of them
I'm sure I'll get a 600 eventually so might be worth grabbing one now if thats a good price. If Cammy is in, we could all paypal Prowler a £25 gift? (If thats ok with you prowler) |

Actually, Steve, that might not be a bad idea. I'd take two of them (one for Cammy and one for me ).
I'll just check my eBay first to see if I've got a response... Edit: No, nothing! |

Okay, that makes three of us. I only need Cammy to give me the nod and I'll go ahead...
BTW, I've never used one of these devices before. Does anyone know how I could test them quickly in my A1200 when I receive them? |

I understand you just need to use 'prepcard' to prepare it as ram.

Thanks for that, Steve!
Apparently, prepcard is included with WB 2.0+, and I've found two related threads on PCMCIA SRAM cards and prepcard: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=20656 http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=37885 I've got to go now. I'm still a bit concerned that I haven't received a reply from the seller of those cards, but perhaps it's still a bit too early for that. Maybe this evening, Cammy will have confirmed her interest and we can go ahead regardless. |

Okay, I have now received a reply from the seller of the 2MB SRAM cards.
He is willing to sell them individually. Here is the link for the new listing: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=250567299688 @Cammy: Do you wish me to get one for you? |
