Quick ROM switcher question
Hi guys and gals,
I am just wondering if an A500/500+ ROM switcher would work in an A2000? Thanks. /Rave

Thanks Zetr0 mate, that's exactly what I needed to know
I just bought an accelerator for the A2000, but it doesn't work with KS 3.1, so I figure a switcher should be a good move to keep compatibility. |

welcome m8y, might i ask what accelerator you got? it might just be a rom re-flash issue, try it with the memory unplugged and if it boots then its a rom that needs an update..

@ davideo, cheers for the info matey
@ Zetr0, it appears to be an A3001, 8MB 030 with IDE. I just seems to not like KS3.1, so as you say it could be a ROM flash issue, although I haven't tried to flash the ROM yet. ( don't know if I'm brave enough!) I have lent it to me ol pal Corfiot to test for the time being and it works a charm in his A2000!!! (with 2.5, so it must be my 3.1) |

Hmmm strange coincidence perhaps....
this particular card uses a GVP memory controller (either in 4bit nibble mode) or 64pin simm mode... now the other GVP card that has perhaps an identical controller also has an issue under KS3.1 Jaws or Jaws 2 turbo or somthing.... its been a while i will have to have a a lookie
