Thanks. I have managed to do the same on a 68060 but all i get is some strange noise out of my Korg X5DR, although i have the Korg and a SC55 on the midi out of my A4000. Both are playing at the same time from the Amiga side, but with PCTask the SC55 get no midi info and the Korg plays weird notes. I have also setup^SoftMPU inside PCTask and directed to COM1. Maybe the serial port is too slow with no Vampire.

At least Vampire has an excellent chipmem and chipset speed with the Amiga (faster even than with the PiStorm). E.g., Plipbox in the parallel port gives ~136.01 kB/s network speed with the Vampire. On that video also core was excellent, Gold12 which could give a speed ratio up to x13. I still consider this to be a best of all cores in the whole Gold series (core is compiled by me back then).

Anywhos, with the GG2 Bus+ bridgeboard is possible to enable Amiga 2000 ISA-slots, that PC-Task 4.4 emulator can access them (IRQ interrupts are not supported). In this way it is possible to play audio e.g., with the Adlib OPL2 ISA Sound Card on PC-Task 4.4. Of course in this case fast access speed to the chipset and Zorro II slots is needed again.

No IRQ you mean no audio card possible apart from the Adlib wich just use a port adress? What other Isa card did work for you? No vga?
Indeed the Vampire (or the PiStorm maybe?) seems to take PCTask to another level because on a 68060/50 Norton sysinfo test the emulated cpu on par with a 386sx/25 like on an A2386 but video speed is very slow even with a z3 video card.
How do you install and use a gg2+ anyway? There are no option in PCTask menu about Isa cards. Is it not possible to interface with another bridgeboard?

PC-Task maps automatically all PC software calls to I/O locations through the GG2 Bus+ card. PC-Task does not support accesses to PC memory space registers through the GG2 Bus+, no DMA and interrupt support is limited to serial and parallel drivers, "ibmser.device" and "ibmprint.device". So, in practice no Sound Blaster, GFX-cards or any else cards where IRQ selection is needed. It's has been a while since this, but as I recall the Adlib, OPL3 sound card and some parallel port card worked for me. Only GoldenGate I or II bridgeboards are supported with the PC-Task.

Has anyone ever tried Windows 3.0/.1 in CGA black and White mode? This must give quite a speed boost.

I have only win2.0 in a hardfile... that wasn't a walk in the park for sure due to it's speed. I did not give it a go on my acutal configs (060+gfxcard or anything more powerful.)
Would be intereting to know if a few stuff could be used within that emulation...

Well, Win95 was a snail, took 2.5 to 4.5 mins to boot and you could see the gfx been written on to the screen. And mostly crashed soon and had to be reinstalled. On DOS Tomb Raider demo ran 1 - 2 fps with a 060.

Retro1234:
to transfer files there is an handler like that on ShapeShifter that mount PCTask or PCX hardfile like a partition. Me too not work more and me too not remember how to do because i'd like me too make other test

I was bored

I've put WINDOWS 3.0 CGA 2 Colour for use on PC-TASK/PCX in the Zone and it's still seems slow as fuck - I was expecting a real speed boost - this is 2 colours!

Just run PC-TASK in LOWRES - DOS is buggered but Windows runs fine and there is a speed increase......... - maybe that didn't do anything - maybe it was the frame skip - does seem faster but not hugely

However if you have a Vampire or 060 maybe you can see a nice speed increase but don't hold your breath.

Must just be the way Windows is written.

Anyone remember how to get the *MOUSE* working in PC-TASK ???

Windows 3.1 apparently can be run in CGA by upgrading from 3.0.

If I get board again.
Whats left to try - SoftWindows under ShapeShifter - If someone has this already setup please! upload.
OS/2 - Will this be any faster.......

no, i can't because hardfile with win3 i cannot start because it searches winA20.386 in the root of C:\.
That file is not present in hardfile

I've reuploaded to the Zone with Mouse support you have to go into Windows Setup and change the mouse driver.

Actually, I do think it's faster than Windows 3.11 colour under PC-Task.

Remember to WIN /S to skip enhanced mode.

You'd probably want a 10THz 128-bit MC68000000 processor for that, Pyro!
