Pistorm and WHDLoad Kickstarts

Hi all

I've looked and can't find a thread that covers this so I really need some help.
I have a Pistorm running on an A500 and it works well with Gotek but what I really need is it working with WHDLoad. I am sure I am missing something very simple here but any help much appreciated.

I have the WB configured to launch and it picks up the WHDLoad but I get errors loading any game - namely Dos Error 0205 (object not found) on locking saved sys:whdsaves I also get Kickstart errors.

I am sure this is covered elsewhere on the forum but I understand the need to upload the Kickstart files that I have to a drive location. All the info says in WHD read me is that it is Devs/kickstarts.

I look in workbench-devs and there is no kickstarts folder.

Questions: How do I create this folder? How do I get the Kickstart files into it?
How do I create the SYS:whdsaves folder?

Sorry, I know there is going to be a very logical answer to this but I'm not familiar with WB or WHDLoad on a real amiga but I've come this far and I feel the finishing line is in site!!!

Thanks for any help

Start a Shell and create the two drawers using
Code:
makedir devs:kickstarts
makedir sys:whdsaves
You can then copy all files from the drawer you have your kickstart files in using
Code:
copy <drawer with kickstart files> devs:kickstarts all
(remove the < and >)

Hi, thanks for the message.

But how do I get the files on to the Amiga from the Mac. Surely some way of using usb on the Gotek? But how do you get them to show? Convert to adf, ok but how to see the actual kickstart within? To move them.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Ah, hold down the right mouse button when the drawer with the kickstart files is open and select 'Window -> Show -> All Files' from the menu.

You also need RTB files.

Perhaps, best to follow instructions like this:

Thanks guys that is really helpful. Something somewhere has gone very wrong. I’m thinking of starting from scratch. Just a quick question? Do i need to unplug the Gotek before trying to use the pi and whdload? It always seems to want to boot from this rather than the hdf files?

The easiest way is to get data onto your PiStorm is via WiFi. Once you're networked you can either get the Amiga on the WiFi and access your Mac shared drives in AmigaOS or conversely set up a SAMBA-SERVER on the Pi and access Amiga drives from MacOS. (The latter will be much faster)

No but you have to eject the disk image. DF0: is the highest priority boot device.
