Bypass Code Wheel?
I received a game today called Disposable Hero and I also have a lot of games where I don't have the manual or code wheel anymore. Is there anyway to get past this and play the friggin' game?

The protection on these games is the worst/best game protection ever. Did they not think "What if they lose their manual/code wheel?"?

How would you apply a crack? Would you not just use a game where the protection has been bypassed using memory address jumps in Assembly?

Hey guys I don't know if this has been done before on mass but im thinking of building up a database of these interactive codewheels. I created one earlier just to test it out using the disposable hero code wheel and it works rather well. I tinkered with the hue a bit to make the numbers stand out more. Check the attachment.

I'm missing them for too many games to mention. Like bordering on hundreds. But if ppl would like to submit like every code wheel they own as a scanned image like the disposable hero one I would gladly make the interactive version of them and slowly build up a database of them. Maybe there could be a section on the EAB server? Just an idea.

Is this a good idea or shall I give up before I go any further? Anyone?

I think any attempt at creating and preserving code wheels, manuals and code sheets is a bluddy great idea
I'll look through my stuff and see what I can find. Dave G |

Awesome if you could get the code wheel scanned or photographed as clear as possible it would be great, it makes it easier when using photoshop to make parts transparent. A good idea if you are scanning would be to place the front disk of the wheel on a white piece of paper and scan it as flat as possible.
I might eventually create a program in VB that lists every game I have obtained manuals and code wheels for and lets you view the manual and code wheel straight from the program. And the great thing is it will all be absolutely free. Merry Christmas everyone!! |

Retro the way i make the codewheels is i don't take an image of every position i get the two separate disks of the wheel make the parts of the front disk transparent in photoshop then in flash i overlay them like a real code wheel and a user click rotates the front disk. I found this is the easiest way. Thanks for another world code wheel tho i needed that for my personal collection. :Wink

So if anyone wants to submit codewheels of their own they need to be like the one posted above for disposable hero. Thanks.
