How to build custom kickstart for mkl ide + RAM?

Hi,

I have legal 3.1 roms for the CDTV, and would like to know what all I need to do in order to build a custom 3.1 kick plus the latest patched scsi.device that supports the A600 IDE with 64-bit filesystems like PFS3AIO.

My end goal would be to run everything on a single partition of an SD card without corruption.

You need an EPROM programmer that is capable of writing Amiga compatible EPROMs.
Generally they need an adapter, but other platforms use the same EPROMs (Sega's etc) so it's not hard.

EPROMs are available cheaply from China.

I'm not familiar with the CDTV, I have an A4000 (pretty sure they use the same ROMs)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01212KD74
At £110 it's not cheap, but I use it for other non-Amiga things.

Software wise you need something that takes a list of modules and creates a Kickstart image.
As far as I know there are 2 options:
- Remus on the Amiga (http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/)
- romtool from the AmiTools project (probably Linux only) https://github.com/cnvogelg/amitools

Let me know if you need help!

I am using a standard 3.1 kickstart rom (from an A500) with 2.30 cdtv extended roms and using mkl's ide+8mb board it autoboots just fine.

here's the odd part though, I am using a 10gb hdd partitioned as a 500mb dh0 and 9gb dh1 so i have to use loadmodule to softload a newer scsi.device to see the larger partition.

This is all working fine but i wanted to stop the additional reboot caused by the loadmodule line so i made a new 3.1 rom

I extracted original and replaced scsi.device with newer one omitting card.resource and carddisk.resource to make room for the newer scsi.device

tested the new rom in Winuae, worked fine.

Burned the rom to a 27c400 and put it into an a600 and it boots from the ide header fine with shell reporting the scsi.device as 43.45 as it should

Put the rom into an a500+ with mkl's board and it will not boot from the hdd!

Put the rom into the CDTV with mkl's board and again it will not boot!

Its all very strange lol

Does A500+/CDTV use the same eeprom pin layout as the A600?
