Other types of modern hardware hacks?
So i was just watching a few vids on youtube that showcased a lot of fancy new hardware we somehow still have being released, several FPGA's, some accelerators and a lot of internal hardware hacks for real hardware and that got me thinking.
What range of internal hardware hacks do we have and is there anything not possible? We have hard drive replacements to use cf-cards, we have accelerators, we have pistorm and vampire type devices that "assume control" of the cpu and add other features. has anyone managed to create something to add primitive chunky gfx modes? a sort of budget/poor mans gfx card even if only 256 colour mode? that replaces/assumes control of more internal chips? maybe a vampire/pistorm'ish thing for fat agnus? Is there anything left inside that nobody has managed to replace? hack? modify? abuse/use? or has the entirity of "things" possible been done already and is just being perfected with some trimming of fat. |

I'd love to see SATA support on accelerators. I totally get the utility of CF cards and enjoy using them myself, but if we had proper SATA support, CD-ROMs and SSDs would be easy to use and fast.
