Having an element of mystery in your game is good game design, IMO. It keeps the game alive even after you've completed it.

PC - A Plague Tale: Requiem -if you think that dark game can't be more darker... well they prove it can. Just have to love use of music (cellos) to enhance experience. At the moment I am at chapter 11.
SMS - Super Smash T.V. - Still playing, but not enjoying (hence not much change in score) Arcade - Asterix - Haven't played this in a while. Recently got 3 comic books from local book store. |

Stay away from the newer comic books, one of them even had an alien... Creative poverty.

Last night I finished A Plague Tale: Requiem. What a story and even a post-credit chapter in game. Just like a real movie, one that you play.
Speaking of credits, it seems team got quite few babies while workin' on the game. ![]() |

Been putting some time into Might & Magic 6 again. As janky as the game is (half the time its a first person shooter really...), it does highlight things I miss in modern games. The game allows me to royally fail. The first party I created was useless, I put the skillpoints into completely the wrong places because I didn't read closely enough, so for example I had forgotten that particular magic is controlled by your personality stat, not your intellect (as weird as that sounds). I had to scrap and redo. That new party immediately started to kick a lot more ass. So satisfying that I could redeem myself.
But also the complete lack of handholding. And I do mean a complete lack, its an old style game which just tosses you into it and even kicks you down by putting you right in the middle of several groups of enemies. Good luck! I had to really think and plan to make progress. My butt is being kicked. Rather than finish this dungeon, maybe I need to travel to some cities and pickup some weapons, spells and new skills... etc. etc. I'm on an actual adventure rather than following an arrow. Wish the game itself was a little better ![]() |

There's a new version of Tamriel Rebuilt that I'll give a try this weekend. It's impressive that they are still at it 20 years in.
Oh and Plutonian Sunrise for Doom. Last edited by TCD; 02 December 2022 at 11:16. |

As I never played any of the Crash Bandicoot games before I've been playing the first game little by little the last few days.

Fun game, but I always had trouble judging where the guy would land in the 3D sections on the original Playstation. Having to jump on moving platforms was something I'd always dread.

I am ~ half of the first game on PS1 (Playing on MiSTeR). Fun little game, with some nice side scrolling levels. Took me multiple times to get perfect run when running away form boulder.
