The problem you're having is your firewall is blocking the incoming connection so you will need to check your firewall settings. You probably need delete the old exception and let it through again even if a different version was working. Do this on your computer and your router and hopefully it fixes the problem.

The firewall on my computer is disabled and I have no firewall settings on my Ubiquiti router that would disallow FTP.
So far, here's my troubleshooting: On the same computer that I initially tried out WHDLoad Download Tool on, I fired up Filezilla, input my personal FTP account credentials for the FTP server and connected. However, I could not get a directory listing. The command to get the directory kept timing out. This probably explains why the Download Tool isn't working on this computer, although I'm puzzled why. I have another computer on my network at home that can successfully connect to the FTP server with Filezilla, gives me a directory listing, and I can download files with Filezilla. However, the WHDLoad Download Tool is giving me the same results as the other computer. I get nothing in the file listing. Am I supposed to already be pointing this tool to a folder that has a bunch of WHDLoad files in it, or should I be able to download a fresh copy of any of the WHDLoad games available? |

Open the .prefs file in a text-editor and change the server address from grandis.nu to ftp.grandis.nu
It changed last week |

what should the pref line look like in the prefs file ?
I only have this (though it worked before): ; *** WHDLoad Tool Prefs File *** ; [FTP] FTP_User = xxxxx FTP_Pass = xxxxx ; [Paths] WHD_Path = d:\WHDLoad Download Tool\Download\ WHD_Game = Games WHD_Demo = Demos WHD_Subfolder = 1 WHD_0toZ = 1 ; [Filter] Filter_Games = 1 Filter_Demos = 1 Filter_Beta = 0 Filter_AGA = 1 Filter_ECS = 1 Filter_NTSC = 0 Filter_PAL = 1 Filter_Files = 0 Filter_Image = 0 Filter_Amiga = 1 Filter_Arcadia = 0 Filter_CD32 = 1 Filter_CDTV = 0 Filter_CDROM = 1 Filter_Czech = 0 Filter_Danish = 1 Filter_Dutch = 0 Filter_English = 1 Filter_Finnish = 0 Filter_French = 0 Filter_German = 0 Filter_Greek = 0 Filter_Italian = 0 Filter_Multi = 0 Filter_Polish = 0 Filter_Spanish = 0 Filter_Swedish = 0 |

WHDLoad Download Tool v0.8b
Version 0.8b is available
This is a quick update that fixes the Turran FTP address as it has changed. You can either delete any prefs files and re-create them or change the ftp address line ftp.grandis.nu with a text editor. V0.9a is still in development and is a while away from release. The new version will add HTTP downloading, A500 mini 256 file folder support and downloading into category based folders. Links are in the first post. |

WHDLoad Download Tool 0.9a (Test Release)
This is a test release which has HTTP support for downloading from the Turran server. Hopefully this will eliminate the connection issues that have been reported in previous versions. FTP is still supported but is slower due to waiting for connections and folder changes.
Fixes / Updates v0.9a
Please report any bugs/issues below. Links are in the first post... |

WHDLoad Download Tool can now be found in '/Non Amiga/Tools for Amiga/WHDLoad Download Tool' on the file server.
