Sometimes you must press something (fire button, mouse button or space).

Greetings,
They have a mechanical switch to indicate that a disk has been inserted, the switch could have gone faulty, or the soldering has cracked from the underside. Change it, or send it to someone for repairing. Paul |

You may have a substituted PC floppy drive inside that does not recognise that the disk has been swapped due to it either being incompatible or not modded properly.

Could you post the model of the floppy drive you have and the manufacturer, if you can see it?

You can issue a diskchange/changedisk command from a cli prompt and then you can check if it can be seen after
Of course this won't help you if it's a game disc or non dos disc Dave G |

The A500 has 2 CIA chips, they should be removable, carefully pry them out of the socket and swap them. If there is no change in the problem then you can rule out the CIA chips being bad. |

I used this thread:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=30944 to make my own amiga floppy drive. It works on many models and is currently believed to be universal |
