NeoBitz-S on PAL A4000

Now that Zetro's Narmi project is going to take longer I was thinking of using a NeoBitz in my PAL A4000.

Anyone tried this before? According to Jeff from NeoBitz I need a different crystal and ground the chip on the board to have it working on PAL.

Hope someone can help!

Why would anyone who lives in Europe want S-Video when we've got beautiful RGB on all our TV's?

I just want to see if people can help get a Neobitz working on a PAL Amiga with S-Video! I don't want to buy a SD/FF !

so this project is on hold: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=32807 ?

here is something about changes for a pal version:

Edit: narmi uses the same components, so it must work on the neobitz device too.

You'd compromise quality because the connector is "ugly"?

@hit,

No, the project has gone to another member; it's not cancelled!

@alexh,

That's not what I meant, let me rephrase: the picture that I get from the RGB input looks somehow interpolated and therefore blurry. Also the colours are not bright and vibrant enough; they look pale and white is a shade of grey even on 100% brightness. Hopes this makes more sense to you !

If RGB does not work well, SVideo will only look worse.

I would first recommend that you examine your RGB cable, check for the resistors on the RGB wires, what values they are etc.

If they are there, try without. If there are non, calculate the correct resistor values (we can help) and add them.

Is your monitor an LCD TV? If so then chances are it will always look interpolated and blury when using an SDTV signal, whether you use RGB or Svideo inputs. It is just because the panel resolution and TV resolution are not the same and the electronics inside have to scale.
