Crappy Noise
hi there,
just yesterday i set up the latest winuae and wb3.1 on a 200 mb hdf to play some whdload-games as i used to some time ago. back then i never had sound issues, but this time i´m experiencing a crappy metallic noise about every 15 seconds when music or similar is played. after raising sound buffer to 7ms the problem disappears but the synchronisation is wrong, e.g. in sensi soccer a ball is being kicked and in one second delay you actually hear the kick. any suggestions? thanks! |

The sound buffer should be set to 4 (original) or under, never above... above will as you say cause audio sync problems.
If you experience crappy noise with the sound buffer at 4 and under, but not above, then it seems like your computer isn't fast enough to handle the emulation. Try to decrease stuff, like resolution. Maybe you are running a cpu intensive program in the back or maybe you are using the wrong settings in winuae that requires lots of cpu power or too little.... but I mainly think that your computer isn't fast enough. |

i have finally set sound driver lag compensation to -0.5% and the noise disappeared. don´t quite know what that means but my cpu should not be the problem. it is an athlon 64bit 3200+. 2gb ram. thanks anyway!
