PiStorm - RGB to HDMI Passthrough
Hi Michal....
I know such a lot of conversation goes on over @ Discord RE PiStorm & it's development with EMU68, but in an effort to bring it to the mainstream user forum database, how is the hardware development looking for this amazing conception? IE, is there an anticipated release date yet please? Thanks in advance. |

I do know that A600 test boards are gonna be produced in the next few days, but I should stress that they're for testers only. No time scale on the 500/1200 et al yet though.

What is this exactly? You get the RGB picture through pastors HDMI without the need of RTG?

It is scandoubled, deinterlaced, native pass through. Just like Amiga gfx cards Picasso IV etc. Means you don't have to switch inputs on your monitor between RTG and native it's automatic and only one cable.

I'm still fighting with me whether or not I need/want that. Currently, one very cool thing is that the native screen modes over RGB do not clear the RTG screen, so you can open e.g. a hint file or solution on the Workbench and then start a WHDLoad game. While you play the game over RGB, you can look at the (frozen) Workbench screen and read whatever you opened there.
In any case, I hope that feature will be switchable by a tooltype, so that even with the hardware installed, the old behaviour could still be used. |

So we're now 3 months on since the first post on this thread....
There have been a few words mentioned over on this thread - https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=117411 Is the de-interlacing any nearer being implemented yet? |

If anyone is after Tiny CM4 board, let me know as I have IO board now. First PiSTORM (with CPU, RTG and Fast RAM), then IO Boards, then Wifi and now Flame Thrower. Its looking to be the best expansion ever, . |

I have heard a rumour RE the final Revision FrameThrower boards being tested now.
Can anyone shed more light on this please? |

Why the holes? Is it supposed to be screwed into the harddrive support holes? Seems big, i hope it does not conflict with surrounding expansions. |

That PCB is not assembled and the vast number of holes are for pins to connect the LISA PLCC socket and the Sipeed Tang Nano 9k FPGA devkit.
I imagine the big holes at one end are where it connects to stand-offs to keep that end elevated from the motherboard. |

From an Engineers two penny's-worth.... FOL's idea could be used as a bonus but what Alex said is more accurate for me. That's an awful lot of PCB to the right of the "Lisa chip" that would be unsupported. - I would imagine something similar to an A4000D CPU card stand off with a flat bottom to sit on the A1200 Motherboard. |

True, but if it's anything like the Indivision then it will firmly click onto the Lisa chip and is unlikely to come off due to the relatively tiny weight of the overhanging PCB.
