Wanted: A4000 mainboard
Last week my 4000 seems to have finally died
All I get from her now is yellow, green and black screens.. I've been having trouble with this system for quite some time and even the picassoIV I spent a fortune on a few months ago wasnt running 100%.. UPDATE: I'm just after a working mainboard now. Managed to get hold of a PSU and HD floppy locally. Hope someone has one Last edited by VermillioN; 15 September 2007 at 05:26. |

Update II:
Due to a stroke of luck I've managed to aquire another rev B mainboard, with a buster 11 as an added bonus I cancelled the HD drive order though as it had a modified faceplate.. If anyone has a working HD drive with it's faceplate I'd love to hear from you. Thanks |

Yep thats the one.. apparently all thats missing is the chip right next to the battery, which I have on my old board.
Fingers crossed that this is the only problem.. |

Yers it doesnt look like I'll have much luck getting this board running..
Once it comes in the mail I can chop n change a few things like the buster, memory and kickstart chips.. I guess there's a slim chance one of these could be a problem with mine. Chain: Sure mate. I'll be in contact once I know whats going on. |

Finally the dead board arrived.
I tried the memory and buster11 in my board and it changed nothing. HOWEVER.. I plugged the dead board up and to my surprise it's doing the same thing as mine - green screens etc... I know for a fact the dead board was at least passing these startup tests.. This only leaves the power supply!! At least I'm getting somewhere.. I'll start a new thread for my new request.. Chain: I'm going to hold onto the dead board for now incase I need it myself. I'll let you know if I'm through with it. |

Why dont you hack up an AT PSU for testing???
Got a spare dead C= or Amiga PSU?? I axed up an old Commodore PC10 and the PSU plug was identical to an A4000D plug. |
