C64 emulator for Amiga

HI.
Could you suggest me a c64 emulator for A500?

I wanted to try Frodo, but I only found the lha version.
There is no adf version?

I used MagiC64 back in the day, but that was also provided as an lha archive. The thing is that stock A500 is not powerful enough to properly emulate a C64, so these emulators were not being distributed on floppies, but were intended to be installed on hard drives - hence the archive.

For stock Amiga 500? The 64 Emulator 2 from Readysoft. Runs about 50%. For better emulation, you need a beefier Amiga and MagiC64. (030/50+)

I tried 64 'emulator II (1987) (Readysoft).
I noticed that the C64 boot screen is not seen in the
right proportions.
Know another C64 emulator in ADF?

I would like to correctly see the C64 start screen

Well, now you're being a little picky. It is what it is... Nothing ran very well on stock A500. It was a novelty.

I agree. C64 with its 6520, VIC-2 and SID is not an easy system to emulate on a stock A500. Keep in mind OCS 68000 Amiga was designed in 1984, only few years after C64 release.

For best compatibility you also need the diskdrive CPU/DOS emulated for fastloaders/customloaders.

The A64 Package is another emulator. I haven't used it so can't say how it performs. This crack runs with a Workbench disk and a utility to install the A64 font. 1MB required. https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/C...00_paradox.adf

IDK of an emulator where the violet border colour is evident. If that is what you mean by the "seen properly" term.

Ancient C64 emulators for ancient Amigas was discussed just a couple of months ago, so you might find that thread useful ;-) https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=116624

But like others have said, playing arcade games at full speed on a stock A500 is not really possible :-(

From what I read, with the basic A500 I will have to settle for Readysoft's 64 2.
But how do you proceed to load a game?

A64 wasn't much of an emu but it did allow basic games to run ok on a stock A500. Maybe more like an an interpreter as you would load/freeze the c64 program and convert to 68k asm to run quicker.

But how do you use the 64 emulator 2 from Readysoft?

I would like to try to load a game in .t64 format.

You cannot use any format except .PRG files. You can copy them to a blank disk and mount it as DF1: and change settings for drive 9. Press CTRL and HELP. Set drive 9 as DF1:

A64 is the best you can use on a stock A500...
Look HERE where you will also find lots of other interesting emulator stuff for the 500!
Read the Welcome! file and all the DOCS in the specific folder very well!
Enjoy!!!

I am looking for downloads of the Readysoft 64 Emulator - can anyone help, or add the files to the Zone?

Working on an interview with the creator, Randal Linden, for Retro Gamer.

There is an IPF in the zone. There are also cracks on there.

As it has been said above. IPF : https://eab.abime.net/zone/The64Emulatorv2.7z

There are also a couple of cracked versions in adf ,wriable on normal hardware.
The latest was recently done by Galahad but is unreleased.

An earlier cracked adf is here : https://eab.abime.net/zone/64Emulator2%2CThe.7z

you can also use the adf as a virtual big .d64 disk

the tool to extract the files from a d64 disk is in example included into Vice (Windows)

you can fit the adf with a couple of d64 disks (extracted)

just shorten the name of each main executable file and load it as usual, the emulator will access to the other files too via disk

its a shame the A500 narrowing thing, cause imo the files/disk access is very deep

the Action Replay breakpoints (i mean the c64 ones) also work, unlike other later emulators

the Action Replay turbo loadings doesn't work, the standard ones do the job

Are you using something like an A500 mini?
I ust ask because of you wanting .adf images.
If you want .adf images then Im guessing its either some sort of emulation like an a500 mini, or a gotek?
If it is for something like an a500 mini or other emulation then its definitely worth installing Workbench/AmigaOS and seeing up a config more powerful than an A500.
This will let you use a lot more software and you'll be able to use AmigaOS versions of emulators like MagiC64, Frodo, or even VICE.

If you can let people know what your set-up is Im sure we'll be able to point you in the right direction, unless of course you're using a stock standard A500 where unfortunately as everyone has mentioned there's no useful options, just a few of what amount to interesting novelties.
