WHDLoad - Unable to Install Shadow of the Beast

Hello all,

Today I received my newest purchase, Shadow of the Beast, and I immediately tried to install it on my A1200 with WHDLoad.

I've got an error message and I've thought that the cause was a bad floppy disk. I've formatted the disk and written on it both the SPS versions, 1414 and 1357 but I'm getting always the same error:

Sorry... an Error Has Occurred!

COPYFILES: Problem with source file/drawer "ShadowOfTheBeast.imager" in line 280.

DOS Error Type: Unable to locate a file or drawer

I've also tried to install the game on E-uae (I use Linux) with the same error.
The WHDLoad version I'm using is 18.2

Can someone check if they have the same issue?
Thanks!

the problem is coming from the installer, and not your original game......

Yes, I was pretty sure of that once I've received the error using the ipf files on e-uae as well...

I've checked for the "ShadowOfTheBeast.imager" file but there's only a "beast.imager" file. I've opened it with a text editor and an hexadecimal editor but I wasn't able to understand where the error is.

Is there another installer available somewhere? I've got the one I'm using directly from the whdload.de website.

Just curious - Did SPS provide you with the .ipf images after you proved you had the originals? I'm just wondering if I have to image my own originals / verify checksums.. Thanks.

No, as far as I know, they don't give the ipf files to people even if they have the original disks.

However, nowadays, it is not difficult to find what you need in the Web...

(re: Finding it on the net) This isn't the case with this one liviux76

I'm after The Seven Gates of Jambala (Thalion) and I thought maybe the SPS would provide it if I sent them a photo of the box, manual & my original disk .. (I'm not asking for it here, let me just state that)

Flashtro's recent crack adds the Thalion intro missing from all the other cracks but the Grandlam intro (Who released the game) is still absent..

Still, I appreciate Flashtro's crack; It's the best version so far

As a side note, I was a member of a small outfit called SPS back in 1990 (Self Preservation Society - An Italian Job reference ) I should zone some material, but it means another dangerous expedition into my parents attic..
