finishing wonderboy in monsterland
I bought this game in a sega gamepack when I got my Amiga. I played it quite a lot since it was pretty addictive (but HARD), and eventually managed to get to the dragon at the end of the game without cheating.
To this day, I have not been able to beat that damned thing. It spits cubes of fire at you that kill you on touch and I can never dodge them all. Does anyone know if there is a special trick to this??? http://hol.abime.net/1750 |

Well if you think the Amiga version is hard, try the Arcade version
I have beaten the dragon using only bombs, whirlwinds and lightnings. Just spit all of them out when you encouter him . |

The only problem I had with the game was that it takes AGES to load between worlds...
But I tried the bombs etc. but the fire kills me as soon as I try to toss them |

Oh my god.... I finished the game emulated yesterday. The dragon was completely different from the version I had (which was an original)... it was now quite easy to beat it as the flames wouldn't roll over the ground but simply pass through it, which makes them so much easier to dodge... and then I got the ending message.
"*bs about you being remembered for all times* ... but the dragon was actually a robot *bs about some other world*" So we got some game which plays in medieval times (armor, sword, magic...) and then ends up with a dragon boss being a robot. Were the dudes from Sega/Activision on crack when they thought that up??? |

Amiga will never die!

Someone needs to write a HD installer for this game that replaces the buttons so you can use a 2-button or CD32 pad to play the game, with one button for attack, one for jump, and up for knocking on a door... or just the second button to do that instead of the spacebar.

I think the Amiga version is pretty cool, but I don't like the sounds though. Congratulations on completing it, Gimbal.
