This is how the cover art of Defender of the Crown was made

Hi all,

I've always been fascinated by the cover art of Defender of the Crown for both Amiga 500 and Commodore 64. I decided to ask Cinemaware of today who the illustrator was, but they didn't know.

I then decided to try to find out who actually painted the cover art for Defender of the Crown, which pulled me into quite some investigation that lasted for two weeks.

But I did, however, find out who the illustrator is. Or at least, I think...

I figure there's someone here who might be interested in this story, so I post it here: http://spelpappan.se/2013/08/this-is...1986-was-made/

Now that I've found my way here, I think I might stick around. I write about Commodore stuff a lot, and I might pick up some nice things here.

Thanks.

Thanks - I just wish that I could lay my hands on a large poster of the original artwork

Cinemaware replied to this article, that they are in fact planning to reprint the old poster - but I wonder where the actual painting is today. It might still reside with Peter Green Design somewhere.

Well, I mainly write for a Swedish audience and quite recently got this article translated. But I hope to hang around here more often now, so I might be quicker next time

And thanks, all - I try to write the articles I would like to read myself. Yes, the tend to get lengthy - but I want to keep the many details.

Nice article thanks for sharing. Defender of the Crown is the first Amiga game I saw and I bought an Amiga when it was cheap enough meaning a 500.
