Demo scene..

i've been checking out...
http://www.slengpung.com/
and...
http://breakpoint.untergrund.net/

amongst others!

having been a fan of the demoscene for quite a while, without ever attending a party (damn the UK)... i have a question...

has the demoscene grown into a huge commercial affair or has it always been sponsered by fairly big companies?

i remember reading the text in most demo party demos, reporting what was going on, but now we have the internet i can get loads of background info, photos and videos etc.... which is great!

i recently downloaded a few newish demos and showed them to people at work, some were very impressed (grab a demo called The S from BTTR for an example), some however didn't see the point..... i must be an UBERNERD.... cool
