2-Player VS, "arkanoid shooter"
1. Possible name of game
Not a clue unfortunately. 2. Game genre (General) Breakout shooter. 3. Game genre (Specific) A 2 player (or as far as I recall, Player vs Computer) game, where you try to shoot the other paddle. 4. Viewpoint Top-Down, square/rectangle playfield, players were situated on opposite sides of the screen. 5. General dates Sorry, not really have any idea. 6. Commercial status For 99% it was shareware. 7. Other specific info Hmm. At the first glance at playfield, you had two paddles (of different or same shape) on opposite sides of the screen, and there were bricks in the middle. Then, when the game started, players started to fire projectiles first destroying bricks and then trying to hit themselves. If I remember, there was no hp. And the other thing I remember, is that when all the rounds were played, a male announcer was saying, in rising voice "The winner isssssss...!" And then "Player Two!" or one . Any ideas? |

This does sound vaguely familiar to me. I don't think it's Poing or Vital Light, the name escapes me...

Yea, neither it is. As far as I recall there was no singleplayer mode - only versus Computer or other human being. Though Vital light looks interesting and I will have to check it out.

I know you said "For 99% it was shareware." but anyway
Here is a list of the "Bat and Ball" + "simultaneous 2 player" games in HOL: http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?...b_player_sim=2 Maybe Cybersphere or one of the others listed? |

Nope unfortunately. There were no bricks behind paddles, only in the middle. If I remember correctly, there wasn't even ball (but I might be wrong) and the ships (paddles) had different shapes.
