60 or 59.94 Hz for NTSC?
I was just curious if there was any reason to use a display refresh rate of 59.94 Hz instead of 60 Hz with WinUAE, or I guess more directly, which frame rate does WinUAE want to use in NTSC mode?

It should not make any noticeably difference, except of course very tiny speed difference, that is invisible to running Amiga software = won't affect compatibility. 60Hz probably is better in normal vsync mode. Low latency vsync attempts to find exact rate but it is only supported in D3D9 mode.
Note that only interlace mode matches standard PAL/NTSC frame rate. Normal non-interlace mode is slightly slower. (~59.8Hz or so) EDIT: Future "sliced" low latency mode probably changes everything.. (https://www.blurbusters.com/blur-bus...or-developers/) |
