Case of the Cautious Condor

Can anyone please point out a site where I can download this game. I have tried the Amisector one and The Good Old Days but both seem to be having problems.

Grab it here:

http://www.goodolddays.net/0_0_0_0_0...1_show_1__0_0/

download = 49 MB

It's a CDTV game and this rar is no ISO, only a datafolder. But it should work for you under AmigaSYS. Use Swap channels --> both under WinUAE/Sound when you noticed problems with the speech.

Edit: i saw you tried Good Old Days. The link works fine (tested it a few minutes ago), but not all the time. Try it later than.

Thanks for your prompt help.

I will try to download it at home. My internet connection is on a network and it is telling me that it cannot find server. Strange since I am able to download any other game. Could it be because it is a large file ?

I have also never been able to download anything from Planetemu. All downloads have been effecetd at home. The network must be blocking something. Any ideas ?

I have no idea atm why the network blocks your downloads. But when you can't get it i will upload it for you to a webhoster like .

The Good Old Days is my site, so I might be able to help you there.

First of all, for clarification: Most of the games are hosted directly on the same server as the site, so if you can see the site, you can also download the games. Because of high bandwidth costs (which I cover from my own pocket, because I hate ads and don't use them), large games like this one are 'outsourced' to my home connection. That's why they're down sometimes - I turn the machine off when I'm away for more than 24 hours.

At the moment, everything's up and running fine. If it doesn't work for you, it can be caused by the following:
-too many people connecting at the same time (doesn't happen too often)
-your provider blocking any FTP traffic (the smaller downloads are all served via HTTP)
-DNS problems

If the problem persists, please send me a private message and I'll give you a workaround for the third point. Since you mentioned problems with Planetemu, though, I guess it's the second issue.

Oh, and I strongly advise you to download it from my site instead of Amisector One, because mine contains a crucial patch

Hi Creosote

Jolly good of you to take the time to bother about my problem.

Now that you have pointed it out, I think you are right, the problem with the network probably relates to the FTP issue you mentioned. As I said, I was able to download any other game from through your site except for the 49 mg one.

I hope to be able to download it at home, if not Retro has offered to upload it through .

Thanks once again for your interest.

@MrCreosote
Can you elaborate on that "patch", please?
Did the BTTR version have that patch, too?

andreas: Sure, sorry for being so cryptic. The 7th scene in the forward lounge lacks sound, so I replaced the file S3_5.RTF. That file can be downloaded individually from my site, too, in case you need it. All the other versions I found on the net had the sound problem.
